You remember the recent news about the nosgoth game right?
Silicon knights/crystal dynamics ect create not just a series but a masterpiece.
A series of games with puzzles actions well constructive VERY deep story the whole package!
The series suddenly hits a brick wall leaving masses of fans disappointed.
(Recognize another game like this ;) )
When suddenly square enix, another fantastic company gets their grubby hands on the series.
A short while later out of nowhere millions of exited faces all lit up by the bright light of their machines monitors all staring into the glowing crystal/phosphor. It tells them something wonderful.
The series is being rebooted.
Only, not quite how the expected it to be.
The faces stop smiling. The faces go blank.
Square enix had not developed a title for the fans at all!
They had simply dug up the body that had been layed to rest and resurrected it!
They had turned this beautiful series into another x vs y fighting game.
Like counter strike or tf2...

Who's to say shenmue 3 will not be the next street fighter!

The reason I first fell in love with shenmue.
Is not for its graphics.
Not for its fighting scenes.
But for its attention to detail and story.
It had an intriguing gameplay machanic.
It was fun.
You had to devote time into it.
The longer you played it the more pieces of the puzzle where relieved.
I played shenmue only a few years ago.
We could never afford a dreamcast!
I emulated it because an old friend got me into it.
For me the graphics where nothing special, I'd seen all the old tricks before.
All I had to enjoy was the game itself.
And I have never enjoyed a game so much in my life!
As you continues the story spiraled downwards faster and faster (in a good way) like you where on some sort of roller coaster. But it got stuck on the loop and everybody's fun time has been cut short.
Sega amusements offer us a free ticket to ride again but when we come back the roller coaster is gone and we have to find fun somewhere else.
The world is full of fighting games. Full of online games.
But how many shenmue's
Do you really want this to become of shenmue.
Sure you could say "ah well at least they still acknowledge it"
They could release a fucking pen set with ryo's head as the lid but that isn't shenmue.
Cameo's are not games. Spin off series are not part of the proper series.
I joined the shenmue fans just a few years ago. Im living proof this game can make it in today market.

Got this baby today. Mac Mini 2.3 ghz intel i7. Like any apple product it was way too over priced, but I still need it very badly. The money I was saving for a PS4 got spent on this, and I have to save for ram upgrade, software, external drive and maybe an SSD for it, eventually.

The only comment I have is that it would be great to have a converter for linux.

Linux is my native operating system so offering a Linux version is a pleasure for me
Somebody new pops out of nowhere offers better asset ripping tools than anyone on this forum has ever seen and even offers a copy for the linux community.

Its been a very long time since I got proper sp00k'd by a AAA game but by god does it do it right!
I will not post spoilers as thats unfair but its everything a good game should be.

You cannot rush into anything, in fact if I where you I wouldnt use that shift key at all!
It builds tension slowly.
Events happen slowly.
You move slowly.

You may be heading down a long corridoor and notice lots of objects in the way.
You can rest assure that you will be carrying your piss wet fear soaked carcus back through that corridoor later on, exactly how much later is a mystery!

You can pick up a gun but its pretty pointless againt more or less everything and you will almost never pick up ammo.
The only thing you have in your favor are distractions.

Play your cards right and be caucious.

There is no faffing about. Once your in a room with a baddie you gotta move ASAP or there gonna find you.
Use your time wisly.

Graphically fantastic.
Phonically fanttastic.
Gameplay difficult and fantastic.

at 1080p you cant really make out any details
1600p and similar resolutions make 1080p look like 800x600 if you can pick a up a cheap CRT go for it! You wont regret it!
