Yea, its really just the bits with Tanimura.

all the stuff I posted so far is from Yakuza 4, my Jak and I are on a Sega kick since we play Sonic Adventure every summer together, so if I notice any other ones I'll post em up and invite everyone to do the same.

This isn't only limited to direct references either, if theres somthing that really strongly reminds you of shenmue I'd love it if you'd share.

Vritua Fighter 5's stage reminded me of Shenhua's flashback scene greatly:

Also, the Great Wall looked identical to the fight with Greg Moore.

It also had a very familiar Shenmue II-esque soundtrack. (0:13/14)

The first time I was with "Jacko" and we saw that stage in VF 5 we both thought back to Shen Hua. I think theres a "Forklift #5" in Rent a Hero No.1 on DC, when I feel saucy I'll go pop it in and look around for it.

I don't think he's played Shenmue II yet, but I could see it regardless. But the Shenhua flashback at the end of Shenmue II is almost dead on.

So far about 13 different games that reference Shenmue or even have Ryo in it. I knew about half of these. Quite suprising.

2 television adverts that recently aired in the UK were Shenmue references to me due to the locations mentioned. The first was a HSBC ad. that referenced Guilin (plus the music is very Shenmue) and the second was Wan Chai!!! :D

I don;t see how that would count. Just real locations not Shenmue references.
Just generic Chinese sounding music

I've always felt of Yakuza as somehow a reference to Shenmue, but these Yakuza 4 screenshots shout out "Shenmue ftw!". In Yakuza 2 one of the bridges is called "Iwao bridge". Kinda weak one but only one i remember that has not already been listed here.
