Seems like you're really having some trouble with the harbor young'n. That forklift race is really easy, you should win about 90% of the time. Also sneaking into the warehouse isn't too hard. I'll help if you need me

Basically, yeah it might be boring but im very interested in how that designed facet (meeting quota every day) imparts into the game world... How it colours ryo's non-boring actions with greater aplomb and significance.

I like the forklift job. On my first playthrough I would just drive around terrorizing the harbor a lot of the time. Then, after work, straight to the harbor store and buy capsule toys LOL. Now I finish the job most of the time and I still get to drive around

funny how as people got older it changed the way they play certain sections of the game

and to the person who couldent win the forklift race, jeeeeeeeez its so easy i had to keep deliberately losing just to get 2/3/4/5th place for the forklift toys mark gives you upon placement!

No, it is not at all boring. I am forklift driver and enjoys my duty a lot. My owner has recently bought some second hand forklifts for company.

Forklift driving was one of the most entertaining things on the game. It also adds some realism and nostalgia on the game, driving a forklift for a living and caring crates around the harbor; awesome. Like many, it had also inspire me to work on that field or at least drive one; though that never actually happened... But that's opinion based, therefore I respect anyone's, even if it's being different than mine.

You see, Shenmue has a life simulator in it (you can even see that mentioned in the game's credits), so it has many elements from reality, that some of us may not find interesting. Ergo, Shenmue is an experience, a combination of (arcade) game and real life elements.
