You'll most likely be wasting your time on the quest for these free battles of legend, but at least you'll still be playing Shenmue

I already mentioned the beta screenshots earlier in this topic. This magazine shows even more of them in Yamanose though.

It seems Ryo was even able to fight while on the stairs. That's way different from the final game. But this is a more simply designed Yamanose (wich can still be found in the files of the debug beta).

I don't recall ever seeing that in motion. Not even in the Premiere video and that has a ton of Beta footage.

Well, nowadays this kind of thing is pretty simple to solve. There's actually nothing to discuss here. Until Zoltor brings video footage evidence, everything he says about those fights is irrelevant. Video or it didn't happen.

Well I never even knew this was some kind of secret, so naturally once I found out that it is(a 16 year secret) some unknown thing, ofcouse my thinking on the ease of triggering it, is gonna change.

You know how crafty Yu is, hell there's a reported bug in Shenmue 1(revolving around a phone call to Nozomi), that can't always be reproduced, never mind all the insanity with Shenmue 2(if there wasn't a official walkthrough released, the whole Fang Mei Birthday thing, probally still wouldn't be known, nevermind all the rare chat sequences, and such buried in the most overlooked timespans/places. Also wasn't the trigger for the guilin secret fail state, just figured out in 2015 for crying out loud).

Yes I did, and that's true, once It's unlocked, it can be done every day like clockwork(except the last week leading upto the bad ending).

In my last post, when I'm talking about triggering it, I'm not talking about a one time event or something that needs a repeatable trigger activated every day.

Whatever triggers are required, only need to be triggered once, once the battle is unlocked, all you have to do, is talk to the NPC to get the encounter.
