Looking for another copy of Shenmue

I moved about a year ago, and I hadn't taken my Dreamcast out until a few weeks ago and decided to play S1 and 2. Well, my Dreamcast has been messed up for a while... if you latch the lid, it stops the CD from spinning for some reason. So I usually just close the lid and set a VMU on top to keep it from opening. The DC controller also has a shorter cable than the PS2, so I went and did something stupid. I can usually lay on my couch and comfortably play the PS2... but when I was playing Shenmue, I stretched and accidentally pulled the DC off its shelf (it only fell 4 inches or so). The lid popped open and Shenmue disk 3 flew across the room like a Frisbee. It was actually an impressive sight, but it scratched the hell out of the disk and is now unusable.

Anyway, what I would really like is a copy of Shenmue with the Japanese voice acting and English subtitles (like the PAL version of Shenmue 2). The Japanese voice acting is far superior to the English IMO. Does such a copy exist? Thanks in advance.

be more careful with your dreamcast next time.

There is no such thing. US Shenmue has English voices and Japanese (or English) subtitles, but not the reverse.

Shenmue is not hard to find just go to any gamestop online or EB games online....or even Ebay.

And for 55$ sega will fix the Dreamcast...in fact it's as good as new.

as for the cord I feel your pain I am so used to my Wavebird Controller gor the GameCube and the 9foot cord for the X-box....then when I play my Dreamcast I have to sit like 5' from the TV. :x

Try Funcoland,Gamestop,software ETC or babbages they are all part of the same company and is world wide franchises.

Yeah, I know I can find another copy for a cheap price. I was just wondering if there was a playable version with Japanese voice acting. I guess not. :(

Yea.. I have 3 mint condition copies of Shenmue I North American version. I live in Canada though.. and have become quite attached to my collection. So I just don't know if I could part with a copy of my beloved Shenmue. :lol:

But if you're interested, maybe we could work something out. I'd say use me as a last resort, though. I'm sure you could find it locally.

I got a brand new shenmue 1 for x-mas from amazon.com it was a little more expensive, $20 but hey i didnt pay, lol
