Every year I prepare myself before April 1st to not believe anything I see on the internet. That especially goes for Shenmue. I didn't see that but with I doubt it would have raised my pulse any that day. Then again, with Shenmue news it seems any day might as well be treated like April Fools Day, but I'd be lying if I said that news didn't raise my pulse.

Yeah, any Shenmue related news has about the same credibility to me as news I see April 1st.

Not surpised there hasnt been no news on this. It would hamper the coverage of JSR. But Sega is in the middle of a campaign to bring DC titles to the DL market, so all roads lead to Shenmue as being the next game to be released. My money is on late August/ early September for its Sega Blog announcement with a planned Christmas 2012 release

SEGA's latest titles have been complete bombs.(binary domain and rhythm thieve etc)

Do you think this will increase the chances of them releasing shenmue 1 and 2? There is an already establish fanbase, and it will be easy to get some sort of revenue due to the fanatics most likely purchasing multiple copies, as well as the new generation of customers.

Or, do you think they would consider it another risk and instead release a new ip with zero marketing which will result in ultimate failure.

How ironic would it be if shenmue was the game to start pulling sales for sega when in a sense it did the complete opposite 10 years ago ha.
