Tremendous thanks to EVERYONE who participated in yesterday's #SaveShenmueHD Tweetathon, keeping demand in the public eye for playable versions of Shenmue 1 & 2 on modern systems. Your efforts continue to reach new supporters and build the momentum for this last piece of the puzzle in Shenmue's full scale revival.
With recent comments from Sega Europe still ringing in fans' ears, we ran a
poll during yesterday's event that we hope will help Sega tailor their approach to Shenmue 1 & 2 remakes/remasters in line with your expectations. As you can see in the attached screenshot, voters overwhelmingly favored a timely release for the good of the series, over lengthy renegotiations of product licenses used in the original games. Time will tell whether Sega takes your views on board, or if their reasons for waiting over a year to greenlight such an obvious project run deeper than those provided.
Later today we'll be announcing the winner of the month-long Mirror, Mirror Contest, which is now closed for entries. Keep your eyes peeled for the design that will earn one artist a boxed sculpture of the legendary Phoenix Mirror!
The next Tweetathon - we hardly need say it by now - is scheduled for October 3rd, so we hope to see you just as vocal next month and staying up to date on the latest campaign news in the meantime. Just about anything could happen in the next thirty days.
