So: When does YsNet Strike Back?

I.e.

When do you think YsNet and Yu will strike back with a fluid trailer that shows this game is going to be everything people hoped for?

I don't believe they'll go entirely dark til E3 of next year, to be honest. I look for them to reveal a much improved TEASER(not a full trailer) at PSX 2017, where I also speculate, with a year left in development and excitement high, the HD Collection to show up also.


Anyone else? My money is on PSX for a reveal of probably a small scene, showing much improved models engaged in conversation(the scene with the fisherman, maybe.)

Yeah, PSX is a safe bet. By the way, someone should tell them to make Ryo's model look like the Slacker backer site/SO Ryo. It's honestly the best Ryo so I really hope they are aiming for him to look like that. With Shenhua, it's quite obvious so I don't need to explain that. I know I probably sound like a broken record at this point but it is imperative that they follow the direction of those models.

They very very very reluctantly released that teaser and the only reason they did it is because of they felt they needed to show something since they've now partnered with Deep Silver.

Don't expect any more teaser trailers this year. Earliest would be April 2018.

I think it may have been the Famitsu interview, but Yu said they'd get into a full promotional swing next year, with the end of 2017 being the very earliest for reemergence.

I don't think it's about striking back as such. When you read the translated interviews, you begin to understand the mindset behind the trailer. Yu was very aware of what he was sharing with the world, and he was ready for the criticism that would inevitably follow. He felt the timing was right following the deal with Deep Silver. Yu will strike again when the time is right!

I think after the backlash that the teaser has caused we won't be seeing anything for a long time. Maybe another video half way through 2018.

I don't expect another trailer as such this year. Definitely some screenshots here and there and maybe a few short glimpses of video within future updates, but I don't think there will be a new trailer until next year.
