Hi, long time browser, first time poster.
I'm a huge fan of Shenmue's music as well. What impressed me more than anything was the sheer scope of it all. From the orchestrated score to the music on the jukebox and those in-game tapes you could buy, it was everywhere and all so diverse. I'd even go out on a limb and say Shenmue Passport was the most 'played' game in my dreamcast library.
As far as the orchestrated score goes I cant think of any other games that are anything like the east meets west you'll find in Shenmue, but there may (not sure because i never played) be one kinda like it.

also this isn't a game, and it's certainly not eastern. But there are some scenes in Rocky where i cant help but be reminded of Shenmue
