On this first episode of Chasing Shenmue we find co-director and hardcore fan Adam Sipione experiencing what can only be called the trip of a lifetime - an unparalleled opportunity for full-on immersion into the real world of the game that captured him over 15 years ago, in Japan with the legendary Yu Suzuki himself!

That's a great interview! I felt a lot more relaxing at the end of the video, when Adam said that from what he was allowed to see from the game so far, it was beyond his expectations. Well... looks like the team is doing a great job!

Not trying to personally insult Adam, but I hope his documentary is fact checked / reviewed for mistakes. He was doing it from memory without preparation, so this could have something to do with it, but his recollection of E3 2015 was completely wrong. At one point he accidentally said E3 2016, he said it was 15 years after Shenmue 2 instead of 14, and his explanation of it sort of ignored the kickstarter part. As someone who has re-watched it many times, this stood out to me.

I'm glad to hear that it exceeds his expectations. I stopped worrying about it after listening to the Ryan Payton interview earlier this year, this just helps to confirm that the end result should at least be as good as if they had continued right after Shenmue II came out.
