FYI, the pictures look like they are getting cut off on the left side and I am not posting everything here. If you can't see them that well, you should be able to view my photobucket album.

I bet that Shenmue has made Yokosuka more touristic.

Very nice stigee! Looks like you're having a good time there. I remember when I first went to Japan everything reminded me of Shenmue. Alot of those pictures looks like the place I lived too. The whole country actually has a very familiar feeling to it no matter where you go. I never went to Yokosuka, but ill probably go eventually someday.

A video of me walking down Dobuita St. at night. The quality is a lot better on my computer and camera. May have to find a better website that won't ruin the quality.

Hey Guys,

I thought you would like to know that if you have NHK World TV, there is a show that airs called Gentle Journeys where reporters travel to towns and cities in Japan and talk to local residents about there town and the history of it, etc. This time they will be showing Dobuita Street, Yokosuka City!!

Here in the UK, this will first air on Wednesday 1st December at 2.30am for half an hour, the sky channel number is 516. Plenty of repeats come on throughout the day and night, so check your tv guide. The last repeat is on at 10.30pm. Gentle Journeys is a great show and I am definitely looking forward to this episode! Plus on NHK there are no ads!

Here's some overcast shots from Yokosuka, Dobuita:

The shrine was exactly where it was in-game, just obviously much bigger IRL. The side street in one of the later images was the side street by the small park. Before even going down the street I called the park being there and voila. You can tell certain streets were used as inspiration if not directly converted like the main strip. Definitely changed a bit over the years, along with the games scale obviously altering things. But some things are still spot on.
