Re: Shenmue 3 backers by location

I wish the full list was available. I want to see how many people from Boston contributed.

Re: Clay Model Phoenix Mirror

The forth of six Phoenix Mirrors is now complete. Next version I will be doing much the same, except I will need to raise the body of the Phoenix somewhat, and I need to find a way to make the rim better.

Re: Topic: Future of the Modding Community?

Sadly I do not have the time or energy to work on this but it is a great idea! Another one of our community members is already working on a Shenmue Fighting Game, which was announced on Shenmue500K via Facebook. It definitely wouldn't be a one person job, but would take a sizable team to accomplish...

Re: Topic: Future of the Modding Community?

I would say that if most of the modders feel the same way as you, the next step is to up the game and create a playable, stand alone, multiplayer mod that is separate from Shenmue 1 and 2. A Shenmue fighting game. Imagine a fan made game where you can choose from any number of fighters; Ryo, Lan Di,...

Re: The Loading Screens - Kept or Removed?

You know, I love my traditional loading screens. I loved then in the recent port of the Resident Evil Remake (or the REmake), and I loved them in the old Resident Evil and Shenmue games, but when I picked up the HD port of Resident Evil 0 the loading screens began to grind on me. Not very hard, but ...

Re: Yakuza? Sleeping Dogs?

Sleeping Dogs isn't anything like Shenmue. It's closer to GTA set in Hong Kong. It is, however, an absolutely fantastic game that I own on both PC and PS4, even though I hate the GTA games.

Re: My Phoenix Mirror

Third version (of a likely 6) has been completed. I'm going to run down my process in creating these things: 1) I use an empty beer bottle, without the paper labels, as rolling pin to roll the Sculpey out into something fairly flat. At this point I break out my level and try to make the Sculpey as l...

Re: ps4 - to buy or not to buy

I bought a PS4 several months ago and I've loved it so far. I can't imagine how many hours I've put into Bloodborne, the REmake, and The Uncharted Collection; not to mention how many hours I will put into Uncharted 4, Dark Souls 3, Detroit, No Man's Sky, Doom 4, Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last Guardian,...

Re: My Phoenix Mirror

Ok, I've just completed the second version of the mirror. I could really use a very critical eye on the construction of the peace, as I want to recreate it as faithfully as possible. Scale, for reference, is 1:1 as close as I can tell. I'll post a picture that will hopefully prove that once I bake i...

Re: My Phoenix Mirror

Here's my completed first draft of the Phoenix Mirror. A little touch ups tonight and tomorrow it will go in for a nice warm bake. There are so many improvements than can be made I'm strongly considering creating a second mirror so I can refine my technique and procedure. http://i.imgur.com/1uK2uvf....

Re: What is the longest you've waited for a game?

Duke Nukem Forever, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Even if it wasn't perfect, it still had that old Duke Nukem goodness.

Clay Model Phoenix Mirror

Hello everyone, Long time lurker, one time poster on an account that has long been lost. When I was introduced to the world of Shenmue on the Sega Dreamcast in 2000 I was immediately enraptured by existence of the Dragon and Phoenix Mirrors. What was their purpose, how would they be used? Were they ...
