Re: Nioh (PS4) - Onimusha meets Dark Souls

I think it's just the fact that it's a Souls-like game that can actually stand on even ground with the series that inspired it. There are plenty of Souls-inspired games out there (most of them 2D), but so far none of them really get it quite as well as Nioh does. It's a challenging game, sure, but ...

Re: Nioh (PS4) - Onimusha meets Dark Souls

It's pretty good. A bit drab in the looks department and fairly repetitive, but it plays well enough overall and it's challenging. I don't really understand the crazy hype, admittedly, but it's not bad.

Re: Deterioration of Physical Media

Disc rot most likely happens at an exceedingly slow pace as long as games are stored properly. I keep my game room climate-controlled all year and have completely blocked out sunlight into the room.

Re: David Bowie Dies

Really awful news. One of the greats. Influenced my musical taste more than maybe any other single artist did.

Making a Murderer - Netflix documentary series

Anybody else been watching this recently? I had seen it mentioned a few times but for some reason put off watching it until the past few days. Really, really interesting. To anyone who hasn't seen it, I highly recommend checking it out. Episode one is on YouTube in its entirety, but the interesting ...

Re: Classic Game Room has moved to Patreon

$10k a month? He needs $120k/year? Seriously? I'd understand if he had a small production team, but if it's just him then I'm struggling to get my head round how people are fallin for it... He only needs $5K a month. $10K is a stretch goal. Keep in mind that he has a studio and space for his set, w...

Re: Classic Game Room has moved to Patreon

Mark creates new content with solid production value on an incredibly consistent and regular basis, all for stuff that's usually older/more obscure. Obviously the ad model of funding the show has ceased to work for him at this point, but that doesn't mean that if he has a dedicated following that va...

Re: Yakuza series

I played through the main storyline of Yakuza 0 last week and enjoyed it a lot, despite only understanding about 15% of what was going on. Can't wait until it comes out in English so I can give it another go-through and fully appreciate it and do more of the side quests.

Re: Recent Gaming Purchases

Picked up Arkham Knight on PS4. It's obviously technically impressive but I find the controls pretty annoying and tedious. Though I am one of the few who hasn't played the earlier Arkham games so it's all new to me.

Re: My Top 10 N64 Games

Nice list! I'll play. These are my favorites, largely due to nostalgia, being that the N64 was my first console and most of these games are ones I played as a kid. 1. Conker's Bad Fur Day 2. Perfect Dark/Goldeneye 3. Super Smash Brothers 4. Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon 5. Sin and Punishment 6. Mar...

Wow. I was just about to buy a few import PS4 games, Ryu ga gotoku 0 being one of them. Might have to put that on hold.
