Didn’t D3T handle some of this collection? I’m a little worried. Seems like porting some Genesis games should be an easier task than porting Shenmue 1 & 2.
I don't think they want to spend time or money sending anyone from the team to events. Not the worst strategy. Better to let Deep Silver handle promotion.
The NPCs and compression are the biggest issue, of course. And lack of direction. I really don't care who they get to do the dub, but I do hope it's 'passable' this time just so we're not dealing with the same "Shenmue sucks" bullshit we always have to deal with.
I know a few of those voice actors are 'embedded' in the Shenmue community, but it's a game that's known for its horrible English dub. Wouldn't surprise me that some in development might want distance from that. At the same time, continuity is always a good thing.
I don’t think any of this is affecting sales. Most people aren’t engaged enough to live or die by some tiny bits of footage for a game they know nothing about. I doubt most of the Lockstarter backers have even seen this stuff considering it hasn’t been released officially.
I don't think Ryo's look was mocked in a negative way, it was just a unique aspect of his personality which helped familiarise fans with the series. I don't really like Ryo's newest model and I think he was a little way to go before he's perfect (like Shenhua), but the idea that that the E3 or Game...
Apparently he's only working on backgrounds/environments.
Personally, I think his Ryo model is the weakest part of his concept trailers. It certainly looks plasticky/rough. I do think it looks 'closer' to the Dreamcast model, however.
The current Ryo looks a bit Malaysian or Filipino to me.
I agree with Spaghetti. That 'original' model looks like something out of 2005. I could see a character model like that in a fighting game with a 100-character roster perhaps. People would be howling with rage if the model still looked like that, and they're still howling over the much improved mode...
Ridiculous! If at e3 there is no new content I think this will declared as one of the worst kickstarter campaigns when it comes to marketing. By who, the Internet Salt Brigade? As far as the rest of the world is concerned, this is one of the most successful Kickstarters of all time. You can disagre...
He's never said a good word about this game. I believe he is or was a fan, but every post of his in every update thread has been overwhelmingly negative. At least when I'm negative, I try to temper my negativity... I'm in the "Holy Shit, Shenmue 3 exists am I dreaming?" camp stil...
I do agree it's a little bit troubling it might release at the end of the console's life span (especially since I just bought mine in December), but I can't really feel anything but hope they're taking their time polishing this very, very important game, rather than rushing it out the door. There is...
