For the people asking where Ryo is, he's under the bridge on the right. It's a tiny figure but you can't miss it! Here he is, in all of his default T-Pose glory https://i.imgur.com/a7VdJ0b.png Shoot I got it wrong! The one under the second temple also looks like him. Hmm, maybe there are 2 Ryos! :D...
Definitely PS4 for me as I've always been a console game player and only have a 2012 MacBook Air. I'll probably try to invade a friend's house for a few hours when the PC demo comes out but I'll be playing the full game on PS4. Shenmue is a console game, the thought of playing it on PC is just weird...
It's pretty clear they had no interest in making the game at all or they wouldn't have granted YS the license to make an official Shenmue III. I'm sure they are getting something out of it as companies don't just give away their intellectual property for nothing but it seems like they figured any mo...
I think it will be about the same level of language. It obviously presents a stylized version of the criminal underworld rather than a realistic picture in the first two games and I would not expect that to change.
Seems pretty clear to me they directly and literally translated whatever is there. Cool that someone noticed it but it seems to me they did not have their translators actually work with this!
We know Shenmue III will not end the series so at the very least it will end unfinished. I have a feeling YS will leave us on the edge of our seat again and I believe work will begin quickly on the next (and what I presume will be the final) game.
It would certainly be disappointing if the game is not very good but after waiting this long, I would have to be completely incapacitated to not play it through to completion.
I'll be watching Sony's show tonight and hope to hear an announcement. Personally, I would think Sega would keep the announcement for themselves and would be surprised to hear it announced from Sony's stage but we shall see. A Shenmue/II HD remaster would probably be on every console and PC, I don't...
Why does the rock jumping scene have to mean we'll play through disc four again? Ryo and Shenhua traveled through the jungle to get to her house, why wouldn't they have to travel through more jungle to get to the first main area in the new game? I don't think we'll play through significant portions ...
I've been talking to one friend and casual Shenmue fan (he recently played both games on my recommendation and loved them) about backing it. He says he's going to get a PS4 now that the slim console is pretty much confirmed and there's a possibility for a price cut. He's not backing the project unti...
I seriously do wonder how the initial rollout will go. Sure, anyone who wants to buy it digitally through PSN or Steam will be fine but what if they botch the delivery of the rewards? What if shipping takes an absurdly long time? I have every faith in the game development team but based on the amate...
If i recall Shenmue 2 just let you choose to play with dpad tank controls remapped on the stick, but it still hadn't actual analog movements. Nope, it was normal single-stick analog control as was common at the time (think Super Mario 64). When you press the trigger you get the view zoom and the st...
Hopefully they would have a legacy control system for those who want to experience the games as released. Personally, I don't have an emotional attachment to the tank controls and prefer the control scheme of Shenmue II. To make the game accessible to modern audiences, I hope they would completely r...
It's interesting that the cutscene he's storyboarding in these shots is the same one we saw last year at E3 (and to date the only true cutscene footage we've ever seen). I wonder if these are old images they threw at us to go with the news that he's taking a more active role with the team going forw...
