Capsule toys can be chalked up to SEGA branding. Without including toys from Sonic , Virtua Fighter , NiGHTS , and the like, capsule toys would have been sparse and boring. So basically you're saying that everything that has already been in the games yet was outside of the game's timeline is justif...
Perhaps they could be manually skippable. That way you could read the location name and time, but advance past it as soon as you want to by pressing a button. Or you could just wait and it would last as long as it used to.
I really don't know what is so..secretive about this remaster that is, by all accounts, almost 3/4 of the way complete, that necessitates an NDA. It might not be anything earth-shattering. It's simply that they have a marketing campaign planned that involves releasing little tidbits here and there ...
I'm looking forward to sharing the part in Shenmue II where Ryo and Shenhua are traveling together through Guilin with my 6 year old daughter. I've shown her videos of some parts of that sequence and she's really interested in Shenhua. It also seems to be her main wish to talk to the characters when...
Like most of us suspected, Sega is a company which puts profits before anything else ( ie not interested in making sHD, Until seeing the interest for s3). I suppose the only other kind of company would be one that is out of business. Sega has to make money to survive. That said, I think that Sega h...
Yes, the exact translation is "open-ended story" indeed. That said, aren't you expecting some cliffhanger? I reckon it could be more similar to the end of Shenmue I, which wasn't really a cliffhanger, just an indication that Ryo was beginning to travel to a new location. I think it could ...
With all this hand-wringing, you would think Shenmue isn't a fun game. It found its audience when it came out and it'll find its audience this time, too. A bigger audience, I expect.
Okay, so, the thing is, Shenmue is not going to be the biggest hit of the year and not everybody will get into it, and some people will not even hear about it because it's not the kind of game they're interested in. That's actually normal. There's only a few games that are marketed so heavily that e...
Thanks for bringing this up and posting that link aries. Some of those texture changes too are just such a shame. It's not just cut and dried in favor of the DC version, though. In some instances the DC version is better. But many of those Xbox examples in the link are improvements over the DC vers...
Even in scenes where removing the bars is impossible because there's no animation available for the additional screen space, they could always adjust the camera angles. Doing a straight port of a game is easy, but I expect a little more than that. Shenmue is an important piece of gaming history and...
Gastarot wrote:Do you know if we will have 30 or 60 FPS for 1080p 16/9 for Shenmue Remaster?
This has not been officially announced. People who know the engine well have said that it has to run at 30 fps so it seems doubtful that 60 fps will be possible, but again there hasn't been any official word as of yet.
I'm ecstatic that we're getting a physical release of Shenmue 1+2 on modern consoles. Just don't give Sega any credit for merely hopping on the gravy train. The fans and YS resurrected the series. Now Sega will cash in with a minimal effort. Sega has already sunk anywhere from $40-70 million into t...
In my observations it seems that E3 has become such a ... I'm trying to think of a polite term for clusterfuck ... ah, well, I think that pretty much sums it up. Over the years we've seen publishers and platform holders rescheduling their own events to try and get some more time and attention so the...
