Re: Sega games you might have missed...

Wow, Ranger X looks really awesome! What a shame I didn't knew about it earlier. Definately have to add that to my Mega Drive collection! 8)

Re: Airplane in Wan Chai

I just finished trying around and was able to get something out of it! :D First of all, triggering this scene doesn't seem to be random at all so forgett what I said earlier. I was able to get it EVERY time I went down the stairs. You just have to walk down the right side of the top half slowly with...

Re: Airplane in Wan Chai

Well the page says that you just have to go there on the day you say goodye to Wan Chai but I cannot varify that. There might be a connection to the toy capsule, maybe you have to have 5 of them with you. 8) They are a not among the common toy capsules but they aren't that rare either. You can find ...

Re: Airplane in Wan Chai

I think they just use them because After Burner always had an F-14. As I already sugested the airplains seem use the same 3D model that the F-14XX After Burner toy capsule uses, much like the cars and other things you can see both as the real thing and as a toy in the game.

Re: Airplane in Wan Chai

I saw the image over at the Shenmue Master. Here it is: http://shenmueangel.free.fr/shenmue2/im ... t_wise.jpg
Doesn't look shopped to me. It seems the jets are the same as the F-14XX toy capsule from the AM2 machine.

Re: Sega Arcade games that should be ported to home consoles

When I think of arcade games that Sega should've ported I immediately have SCUD Race / Sega Super GT on my mind. Seriously, that game was in sooo many magazines during the pre- and early Dreamcast days as one of the possible games. It's such a shame they haven't ported it. Wouldn't be a problem for ...

Re: Airplane in Wan Chai

Triggering this scene is completely random. On one playtrough you might get it 3 times and on another playthrough you won't see it even once. (happened to me exactly like this) There is also another scene when you go through there on the day you say goodby to Wan Chai. Insted of the jumbo you'll see...

Re: Shenmue DLC - Will it be a reality?

Yeah, I can't really say much that hasn't been said here already but seeing how many Dreamcast games they want to release online Shenmue I + II just have to be among them. I don't know how long we're gonna have to wait until they announce what games will come after the first wave and when the name S...

Re: Exploring the Kowloon introduction?

Could somebody who is a little bit more experienced with map swapping please try this out and/or give a guide here how exactly to do this? I have tried it already but got nowhere. I didn't know wich map I should switch for the one I wanted and I also didn't know if I have to replace the other files ...

Re: Interesting find on Gamewinners...

I have tried it with the guide today but she just tells Ryo the usual stuff and that there's nothing new she can read afterwards. There definately have to be other factors that make you get this. Since I was sure that this dialogue really existet I searched through the files and actually found the l...

Re: Exploring the Kowloon introduction?

I think it has to be 0200 since it's the first folder and that scene is the first on disc 3. When I made a quick look into the mapinfo file I saw the lines RYO and BUS everywhere so I think that's got to be it. I might have a look at the map swapper and see if I can do something when I find out wher...

Re: Shenmue IIx on an Xbox 360

Well I have my 360 connected to my TV through HDMI and I get a full 4:3 image there. Don't know about using the VGA cable for the 360 but I use one on my Dreamcast and I get a full 4:3 image there aswell. I can change the screen between pixel to pixel (wich is a really small fraction on the center o...

Exploring the Kowloon introduction?

Last time I saw the opening of disc 3 with the Kowloon introduction I thought to myself that it would be cool to walk around this massive map and take the bus route on foot.
Is this actually possible with map swapping somehow? And if it is would you be stuck to the tapping up to walk around?

Re: Shenmue IIx on an Xbox 360

Shenmue II doesn't have a widescreen mode on the 360. I'm not 100% sure but I think it doesn't have that on the old Xbox either. I'm sorry but you can't do anything about that on the 360. It should fill the screen from top to bottom though, like regular 4:3 material.

Re: Is there a Shenmue 1 with Jap Audio & English Subs?

It is very much possible to do this. I'm actually doing this on my translation into german and it works pretty good. I'm doing this by exchanging the AFS files from the PAL version with those from the japanese version. You just have to edit the subtitles then. If you don't want to be loyal to the ja...
