Damn man - I got a bit emotional during the reveal of the Shenmue Tree. I don't watch twitch streams often, but it was easy to feed off of the emotion of gametrailers and the chat. The last time I played Shenmue II was to celebrate the dc's 10 year anniversary, so everything just hit me again like a...
I would love this feature if we were getting a fully funded Shenmue III (or at the very least, something much more simplified/small scale). I think you're underestimating how much work has to be done to do this, though. First off, Ryo is really the only character in the game with a fully realized mo...
I'm not sure if Wong, Joy and Xiuying being in Online is proof the characters will return. I mean, the thing seemed to be a Best of Shenmue II anyways. Even going so far as to repeat entire mini games and story retreads (Delin stuff) that were in II. I agree. I think Wong and Joy would definitely b...
The simplest way to describe it is the overall attention to detail and purpose. It makes everything feel closer to you as a player, physically and emotionally. The game is bigger than the sum of it's parts, so that's how I would describe what's great about the game as concise as possible. Other open...
I can see hints of magic occurring here and there but can't see it being common in the every day world (fireballs and such). Maybe the magical elements will be saved for absolutely huge moments in the series, like 2 or 3 "holy shit" set-piece moments. I was always thinking that the more my...
Yeah, there's almost always a bit of a boost at the end of the kickstarter. I think a lot of people don't realize that you don't get charged until the kickstarter ends, or they just wait until all the tiers are announced (or just straight up forgot to pledge sooner!). Plus it's also the last opportu...
1276 backers | $335k, 989 backers | $101K, 478 backers | $50+k (with 12 hours to go today). Makes you wonder how things would be different if there was a PS4 physical copy from the start.
Agreed! And the physical PS4 version is huge for getting new pledges and to get people to upgrade from the $30 tier to the $60 tier. The total backers of the $30 tier has decreased by around 2500 so far (I'm assuming they pretty much all upgraded a tier). I'm feeling pretty good about the ability to...
I wouldn't get too caught up in the specifics of each stretch goal tier. New ideas can come up during development and priorities can be changed. To me, the most important thing is more money = better for development.
I can assure you that Kotaku does not give a fuck about him writing a clickbait article. Having a meltdown on twitter and saying something potentially offensive is another story, though that's not to encourage people harassing him.
