thanks for the tutorial. the shenmue ripping stuff didn't work for me, but i got the same problem ,when i ripped a scene from onimusha with textures and all, but when i exported the model into .3ds to enhance it with su ,the textures disappeared :x Are you using vista? Vista has limited compatibili...
I agree with what Master Kyodai said about Vista, I tired doing it on vista and the application crashes, I am going to try it all on XP to see if we can get some nice rips. I have read on the 3d ripper dx forums that the application barely works with vista, so that is probably the reason why vista u...
Those renders are not to bad! Hey it's a start :D I was reading on the other forums about this issue, accel99 is right about welding the verts, you probably would have to do that in max though, vue isnt to great for that sort of thing. Looking good though. EDIT: I found that 3d ripper dx does not mi...
I am going to give this a shot tomorrow in 3dsmax, ill post my results later today. I want to get the uv maps going to and I am pretty sure max can import 3dr, so we will see what happens
Wow that model is actually quite good, a mesh smooth and a uv map would look nice. Also does the model have bones, like are you able to move the arms and legs, it should have it from what I am told. Additionally it seems that shenmue 2 (like you said) is the only version that we can extract models f...
EDIT: accel99 - could you post your character model results? And are you seeing any of the textures or UV maps showing up? Also see if you can capture the model in a isolated area, I think shenmue passport might be a good place to do it. Yeah we are going to need to do some tweaking, the guy on the ...
I have done some research and I have found the tools needed in order to rip models, I don't have windows xp (I'm on a mac) so I can't try it myself untill I get back in town. But if anyone has shenmue for nulldc I suggest you try this out :D Here is a link to all the files you need. http://www.onlyt...
That would be very neat Also I contacted the guy who managed to rip the full 3d models, I asked him to write a tutorial, and I am awaiting a response. I even offered him money in return I think having these models, and creating fan art with them could really spark up the shenmue community.
He did say that the models do come out a little rough, but I think he is using a mesh smooth in 3dsmax to clean them up, because the examples he shows are quite nice. I think if someone could write up a tutorial we would be able to get alot of the models into a .obj or .3ds format and from there we ...
I was reading they came out flat, if you read the link at the bottom the guy managed to get full 3d versions using a plug in called "stereoscoppic PVR pluggin" so it must be possible.
***This post has older content, newer information and how to rip models (video tutorial) can be found in the other stickies in the modding forum*** Hey guys, I have been browsing this forum for quite some time now but never posted, I have been looking for ways to rip shenmue models so that they can...
