Re: Favorite movie scenes

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcmFY9V4qoc This was a mockumentary before these were well-established (even if it's post Spinal Tap). It's about a film crew that follows a serial killer in Belgium. Its low-budget values give it extra-credence I guess, but the film's merit is its happy-go-lucky pro...

Re: The Perceived Beauty of Foreign Language

There's a reason languages sound like they sound, even accents within a same language. Another peculiarity is how easy or how difficult it is for certain native language speakers to pick up other specific languages. As for percieved beauty... I imagine that's subjective, as the answers here show, bu...

Re: Controller Wars? (Poll)

To be honest I don't think the perfect controller has been made yet (I haven't tried many from the list though), nor do I think it matters that much either.

Re: Dojo history, rivalries & revelations

Back in the day when post tally was VERY IMPORTANT, and posts in the junk forum counted towards it, there was a guy called Imajin or something, who towered above all. Has he disappeared? I think I overtook him once and was quite cross when the tallies were reset when the forum moved out of Gamespy (...

Re: Classic Dreamcast Gems

I don't know about other consoles because I was all-SEGA back then, but it was certainly the case on computer games. Particularly at that time of the big cardboard computer game boxes, it was just packed with manuals.

Re: Classic Dreamcast Gems

^I'm not sure it was just SEGA. Perhaps that bit of bother might explain why Europe always got games last, if at all in some cases, and not just to do with a theoretically smaller and more culturally diverse market.

Re: Classic Dreamcast Gems

I'm pretty sure a centralized European office only started halfway through the 128bit generation. I think up to then all big countries had an office taking care of printing, advertising and distribution (possibly taking over smaller neighbour countries), which would explain SEGA's (for instance) cou...

Re: Random Thoughts

Japan has a society that views suicide in such a different light than the one seen in the West, I was wondering how failed suicide attempts are regarded.
