Rarely post here, usually a lurker but I saw this posted by a friend today. Trying not to think about Shenmue since III is still so far away but of course it's the first thing I thought of.

Sorry to be a debbie downer but this is a waste of an update IMO. But I guess they have nothing else of substance to show us until the next big unveil at a gaming show.

I just bought my new TV yesterday, partly in anticipation of seeing Shenmue III with the best color possible. I won't be able to pick it up till Sunday as BestBuy had to order it in for me but I ended up getting the Vizio P-50 after a couple weeks of intensive research. I'm going from a 32" maybe 1080p HDTV to a 50" 4K UHD TV.

The Vizio P-50 includes the following:
4K UHD Resolution
HDR - both HDR10 and Dolby HDR capable
WCG within the HDR
19.1ms lag in gaming mode (one of the best I could find)
A really good scaler (for when I play Shenmue 1 & 2 on my Dreamcast)

I'm pumped. Normally a $1000 TV but BestBuy had a sale and I saved $100 which I put towards the 5 year warranty (I have young kids). It only took 10 years for my wife to agree to let me get a top of the line TV. :D

Replaying Shenmue will be glorious!

Sweet! Got my 4K 40" Samsung this year for my bedroom. So I'm all ready too. Some Netflix shows and tons of youtube content are available and really look incredible.

So is it possible we won't get the big re-reveal at Playstation Experience in Decemer and have to wait until Magic Monaco '17 in Feburary?

Yeah, PS4 Pro.. hard to tell. On the one hand it sounds like more work for a relatively small and already hard working team, on the other hand Yu Suzuki is all about pushing his creations to the limit. Plus a year from now making use of the Pro might be so common that a game without that could seem outdated. We'll see. If it does make use of it, I'll have to upgrade..

Haha yeah which is why I'm holding out until late next year. Don't play games nearly as much these days. The only PS4 game that was a MUST for me was Uncharted 4 and I was able to beat that in a couple weeks playing it on my brother's PS4 making frequent visits to my mom's house haha. Still got PS3 if I do feel the urge to play something but it's really not prevalent in my 30 year old state anymore.

Yakuza is not even in the same realm as Shenmue IMO. It reminds me of a modern-day Dynasty Warriors lol.

SHENMUE HD UPDATE! – 9/3/2017
Over the last few weeks I’ve had a huge amount of messages (thanks all!) regarding the Shenmue leak, so I thought I should clarify a few points in the body of this article rather than in the comments below. So many people have reported on this story it’s amazing how many have distorted some of the detail.

The only things I know for certain are;
1/ Shenmue HD is complete. It’s basically done.
2/ Shenmue HD will be released this year.

The elements which I have not received 100% confirmation of.
1/ I don’t know specifics about publisher or platforms.
2/ PS4 wasn’t mentioned – but that’s not to say it won’t happen. (It will be of course) but I don’t KNOW this for a fact. (But of course it will be)
3/ Episode 1&2 together ‘may be’ released together.
4/ Shenmue 3 delay is pretty likely.

ILJG guesswork – because why not.
1/ Probably confirmed before E3 – because GET ON WITH IT ALREADY.
2/ Fuku-san Bikini DLC packs – every week from launch.
3/ Someone somewhere at Sega must see the wisdom of releasing Phantasy Star Online on Switch, right?
4/ Phantasy Star Online.
5/ Please GOD Phantasy Star Online.

Only 2 weeks to go until we don't get another update!

But honestly if all this quiet time means we get a huge E3 showing, trust me I'm all for it!

I'm not watching E3 this year. Not getting my hopes up for the millionth time. I didn't watch E3 2015 and was pleasantly surprised so hoping something similar happens.

It's real because Sega has yet to re-release Panzer Dragoon, Panzer Dragoon Zwei, Panzer Dragoon Orta and especially Panzer Dragoon Saga. There's also Enemy Zero, D2, Clockwork Knight and others I keep dreaming about.
