Re: 2015: Justice League VS Avengers 2

- Batman works well with Superman because they're polar opposites.
- Superman has some very cool moments. He even makes some of Batman's moments even cooler. Never used to like him, but you really warm up to him when he's written well (something that rarely happens outside comics)
- The Flash (Barry Allen version) is a forensic police detective, making his civilian identity very relevant in today's world.
- Cyborg is half-robot, so he'll easily fit in by default as a generic character.
- Green Lantern is a space cop... Nuff said.
- Aquaman's shit, Wonder Woman's shit (imo), but they're occasionally written well. They're both warrior/leader/generals of mythical civilisations, but only tend to work in specific situations.
- Green Arrow probably wouldn't be in it, but is very politically vocal, so would provide that kinda commentary.

...still reckon WB are likely to cock it up though, sadly...

Just say you've got summat important to talk to her about, invite her round for wine (NOT lager or owt) n a bit of chillin, put some tealight candles on (you're saving money on bills for the land down under) talk a bunch of bollocks to eachother, move onto the subject of Australia, and slide that in there.

Re: Assassins Creed Series

Yes, which is why it's essential to start with the first one. I began playing Splinter Cell games with Pandora Tomorrow (the second game in the series), and went on from there. Eventually I wanted to play the original, but was so used to the later games it made the first unplayable.

It will be the same case here.

Re: Assassins Creed Series

Can't disagree more with the AC1 haters. Whilst I can acknowledge the fact that it can get boring and repetitive, it is definitely not one to skip. I know for a fact that I wouldn't have loved the original's successors as much if I hadn't played the first... first... (I hate it when that happens...)

Anyway, even if you don't play it for the game itself, it's worth picking up for the story and the sheer beauty of the environments. I can recall just sitting on my bed not even playing through the game, just climbing to the highest spots to get the best views possible.

Don't settle on skipping it just yet. I'd say it's vital that you play through it in order to appreciate the other games. Although it makes Revelations rather unsettling hearing Altair's voice (I understand why they changed it, but I loved everything about AC1's Altair)

Oh, and another reason to get it... There was a spin-off for the PSP that involved Altair. I'm not sure if the Vita's BC, but if it is, you'll probably want to get that one too.

Re: Has anybody played Shenmue II on NTSC(JP) Xbox 360?

I'm confused. Just buy the Jap Shenmue IIx? I wouldn't bother, anyway. I played mine on my PAL 360, and it's buggy as hell.

C'mon, it ain't that bad. So the sound effects cut out during crate shifting and darts? So the sound effects and music cut out in the Golden Qtr.? Besides those, there's nothing wrong with it whatsoever.

Sure, there's the occasional warped model that looks like it's trying to trip you up or stab you, but that only happens in one or two FREE battles from what I seen. There's practically fuck all wrong with it other than an odd glitch or two, which is to be expected if playing via an emulator.

Absolutely nothing about playing it on the 360 ruins or sours the experience. What. So. Ever.

Re: Nintendo and Sega discussing the future of Shenmue ?

Well, it's not exactly an announcement, it's a rumour based on the testimony of an apparent "insider", and sources usually work with one publication, not multiple.

As a football fan though (especially a City supporter) I know that, "insiders" and "close, trusted sources" tend to be people who work in or around the area of the clubs/companies they are providing information on, but more often than not don't actually work directly for (if at all) for said club/company.

Even then, most of the time it's second, third, or fourth hand hearsay that could've been heard at any part of a conversation. They could've only heard what has been underlined...

"Paul who works maintenence said about those Shenmue tweets. I swear, some of these freaks are doing things that are borderline harassment."
"Yeah, I heard about that. They're even tweeting us at the moment. As if Nintendo are gonna call SEGA up and talk about resurrecting Shenmue to release the third instalment on the Wii-U ?"
"Innit. Doesn't make any sense. They need to get a life."
"Ah hurd dat!"

...minus the blatantly western colloquialisms, obviously...

Essential for work, non-essential for life, plays a big part in leisurely activities... When I'm on a night out I intentionally run down the battery to escape the one-per-minute texts from the missus. At the end of the day, most of our creations are considered technology. Re: What Game/Games Are You Currently Playing?

Seriously? San Andreas was vastly different from it's predecessors. The formula may have still been there, but it wasn't minor cosmetic differences at all, and added a lot of depth to the series. If anything, it saved it from becoming exactly what you've described it as. Rockstar are a developer/publisher I trust, because they truly take their time with titles so as not to over saturate the market with the same iteration every time. The only time they could be considered guilty of that was with the "Stories" spin-offs, and their original intentions were just to give gamers a portable version of the "III" era of GTA.

Not a fan of Halo tbh. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the vehicles, and from time to time I'll have a blast on multiplayer, but other than that the series is highly overrated imo. The only reason I'd buy another one is because I love the assault rifle that has the compass/ammo count lcd screen. Fucking flawless design. They should patent it. Although I wish they wouldn't so it'd appear in better games.

Re: Nintendo and Sega discussing the future of Shenmue ?

It's not sad, really. When people leave an office job, people don't talk about how great Bob was because he always handed in his paperwork on time, or always let you borrow his pen, but they'll talk about the time Mike got pissed at the office party and danced on the table naked.

Why?

- The former is an ongoing thing, the latter is a singular event.
- The former is a regular thing, the latter is a bit of a mental thing.
- The former is boring, the latter is entertaining.

When you reminisce with someone about school or summat (don't wanna hear how you hated school or got no mates or anything, this is both hypothetical and rhetorical) do you talk about the numerous times you got B grades in Physics, or do you talk about that time you proved the teacher wrong and made them look like an idiot?

There's nothing wrong with talking about Doree. It was a historical event as far as the Dojo goes, and whilst it all ended in utter disappointment, it was an exciting time. Not only is it undeniable, but it's a much fonder memory than the time that so and so put up a spambot filter or when they updated all the dead links on the main site.
