[color=#00FF80]Shenmue is special to me for all the reasons everyone has said. For me, it's the incredible music, moving story, interesting characters, and the magic realism (my favorite genre). Something I think not a lot of people mention or appreciate about Shenmue is that it was pretty much the first game (and I can't think of another since) that atmospherically created an ordinary, even mundane world, that felt realistic. And yet, there are little hints of magic that start to develop and a great ancient secret or mystery buried in that, that slowly emerges as the series progresses. [color]

If I ever could develop a man crush (I can't, contrary to some) it would be you, because of this.
One of my biggest Shenmue draws, one so rarely mentioned.

I said it many times in the past, but when Shenhua 'blows' the dandelion' seeds it's like magic is suddenly really brought to life right there in front of your eyes, it makes you believe in the magickal, thanks to the subtility of how it enters (and never, ever leaves) the world of Shenmue since the very beggining of the original game and just because of the way Yu' story handles the mystical aspect of it, so soberly, so tenderly, without excess nor lacuna.

My spirit will never rest knowing destiny awaits...

SH2 story spoilers: I think it represents the abuse Angela was a victim of, as a child. The monster looks like a man investing upon a child, in a bed. The screaming mouths, almost like vaginal holes, also point to this tragic, disturbed truth.

I think I can tweak it some more and make it better, but unfortunately this was originally written for a short film story contest and the due date is tomorrow. I like the story though. It was really fun to write for. I'm hoping the decision to tie it into my DEUX script will won't backfire, but fuck it if it does.

And yes, that's Ben Whishaw as Q in the pic. Couldn't help but think of him as the protagonist the entire way.

Anyways, I hope you guys read it and I really hope you enjoy it. It's a 30 page script, very short read.

The original is still my fav, it's (gothic) charm is unmatched. Modern action games started there, and with a bang.

According to the latest issue of Dengeki Playstation Nagoshi has word about the next Ryu Ga Gotoku game.

Explaining that Yakuza 5 was the culmination of the series ideas and systems it will be the final title on the PS3. The team is looking to innovate for the next game improving the story telling and battle system even further expanding the form of play they created in Yakuza 5.

He wants the studio to move forward knowing they make the best games in the current environment.

There is more in the magazine which will be released later this week including: Mr. Romi Park, Haruka, manners and customs, mini-games, and Nagoshi-San.
