If there's anyone who can give the dojo a bit more lightheartedness, Spokane.

(I imagine that would be the kind of joke he'd make if he was here.)

Why not both?

I'd go with Galaga, mainly because Pacman has had more exposure.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution or Mirror's Edge?

Re: Superman

To be fair, while it's still not completely believable, there's a bit more to the disguise than just glasses.

Green Lantern: Clark hides behind a pair of glasses and you're worrying about me?
Flash: Clark slouches, wears clothes two sizes too big, and raises his voice an octave.

I played the first Gabriel Knight during my senior year of high school. One of the locations in the game is Tulane University in New Orleans. During my playthrough Tulane University sent me a letter inviting me to apply there.

Just like Grand Theft Auto, you can beat up the prostitute to get your money back. Except this time the beating takes the form of a Pokemon battle.

Re: Recent Gaming Purchases

A burnable boot disc like Utopia would be the simplest method. As far as I know, most Dreamcasts should work with it.

A Gameshark disc would also work if you have one.

Re: The Game Of Thrones TV topic

The first season was a pretty close adaptation. The third season has shuffled some stuff around, but it's also been pretty faithful. The second season though had changes that a vocal portion of book readers thought were completely unnecessary.

The House of the Undying was the event that most of them complained about. In the book, the House of the Undying has a lot of foreshadowing and other neat stuff. In the show, all we get is the return of Jason Momoa. Jason's great, but the book version is a whole lot grander.

"Chungking Express" actually. "Fallen Angels" was originally supposed to be a part of "Chungking Express", but was cut out for lack of time and spun off into its own thing. I'd also recommend both movies.

Re: Random Thoughts

So... I have kind of been talking to this stripper. Shes not the first stipper I have known either ;-) But she is a gamer and we play Magic The Gathering together. Shes 19 but honestly looks about 14 or 15 with short dark blue hair and she honestly looks like an anime character I said in another topic I was watching ghost in the shell sac and she could easily be a voice actor for one of the english tachikomas shes small only weights like 100 pounds and will take it any way i give it to her, I am going to a deepest darkest pits of hell for this one, but shit why not? But that has not happened just yet cause her mom was so on her ass about everything, but we have already had a full conversation about what we were into sexually, and she me wants me to be the dom to her submissive. Its comin.

Sounds like the Magic cards aren't the only things that are going to be tapped sideways.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts (Read OP Before Posting)

My sister just learned the lesson to keep multiple saves the hard way. I had three saves on Persona 3: FES compared to her one. She didn't understand the logic to me keeping that many saves, until she erased her save file with one of mine by accident.

Re: What are you currently playing?

I finished "the journey" section of Persona 3: FES and have played a decent chunk of "the answer".

I also finished Assassin's Creed 3, bar a few naval missions. Not quite up to par as the Ezio games, but it eventually grew on me. Well, the game itself did. Connor did not.

I also started Heroes of Might and Magic III last night and I'm starting to get addicted to it.

Simo Häyhä and Lyudmila Pavlichenko are the most interesting people i've come across recently.

Always been fascinated with snipers. There's something about sitting around for long periods of time waiting for your target or hidden out in an active field that intrigues me.

Here are a few more sniper articles for you.

Re: What are you currently playing?

I also started playing Kung Fu Strike: The Warrior's Rise. It's pretty awesome. Every level is like a fight scene in a Wuxia kung fu film with a lot of unscripted badass moments being created during gameplay.

Does it have online play? I bought it because I was interested in how it played figure I might as well try playing it with someone who understands it.

No online play. There's local co-op, but I don't think I'll be in New York anytime soon.

Re: Hong Kong/Cantonese stuff

^
I'm a fan of Wong Kar-wai's movies. Chungking Express and Fallen Angels would be some good ones to start with. They're based in the Chungking Mansions area of Hong Kong

I've only seen the abridged Ashes of Time Redux version. If you watch the original three hour one, let me know.

Hong Kong also has a lot of great action movies that created the "heroic bloodshed" genre. John Woo's A Better Tomorrow , The Killer , and Hardboiled are all great.

Two Hong Kong kung fu comedy-horror movies that match the Halloween spirit would be Encounters of the Spooky Kind and Mr. Vampire.
