But no, the screens from MAGIC '18 aren't from the Gamescom build. There are a lot of improvements specifically in regards to their lighting and material shaders in the new stuff - although it's anybody's guess how "done" they are and if Yu has achieved the right "smell".

Right now I'm not even really concerned about the story and whether or not we will need more games to reach a satisfying conclusion. What I want is more F.R.E.E - Full Reactive Eyes Entertainment. That sense of immersion and intricate level of detail that can only be found in the world of Shenmue. As long as Yu Suzuki delivers on that I think I'll be fairly happy with whatever direction the story takes. For me, Shenmue 3 is about the journey and not necessarily the destination.

OMG they actually did it! While I had this funny feeling of things being different around this hype time it still is surprising that we do finally get it! I'm so happy, so excited for this now that I actually can not freak out for some reason. :lol:

The added features sound like just what we need so far but I'm curious if there's more like save anywhere in Shenmue and how widescreen and the resolutions are handled. Now we can start hoping for cleared file transfer to Shenmue III again!

There's a visual effect missing during the dojo scene, like a sort of "haze" overlay. Though it's nowhere near as prominent as the video, because a lot of that is just the low resolution. Guessing they haven't gotten it working yet, or are planning a replacement.

The prologue scene with Shenhua on the cliff is greatly improved even over DEMUL, though. A lot of work on the lighting and colour balance, and improved textures for Shenhua and the skybox.

The trailer was marked with WIP so - don't lose ya' shit. They're probably aware of this.

There's supposedly hundreds of leftover tracks from Shenmue I and II that have never been heard. If I recall, Yu intends to use a mix of these and new compositions by the original composer in Shenmue III.

Be neat to do a bit of a quiz on naming the characters based on these caricature...I guess the Japanese under the faces gives them away to anyone who can read it though :P
