I'll always identify Psygnosis with the Amiga. The games looked and sounded best by far on that platform.

Lemmings and Shadow of the Beast were fantastic, but don't forget about Barbarian! A classic.

Sadly, the vol. 12 disc won't seem to load, although apparently it also has just a video.

Just a few text files and a Japanese audio track probably saying it's a GD-ROM.

I'll check it out again this evening to see if I can rip any content out of it.

For me it's the way the games have roots in reality. The story takes place in real settings that start at a real time. It gives an amazing sense of freedom but doesn't go outside of the rules of the story. Unlike what other games have done, you wouldn't have Ryo pull someone from their car, punch them in the face, take their money then run them over with their own ride as they pick themselves up. Ryo wouldn't do it in his story and neither would you in real life.

That's why it connects and resonates with us because as we play, it puts us in Ryo's shoes and makes his story our story. The whole experience starts to feel like something real which allows you to invest yourself completely.

Take all that and wrap it in all the insanely high production value that's already been touched on here and what you have is a gaming experience that simply stands alone. it's more than a game. It's Shenmue.

Just got back from the local wings joint and I'm loaded up pretty good. Feeling like a proud Canadian right now. GSP dominates yet again. This guy is not only masterful, but an ambassador to the sport. The Silva fight next year will be off the charts.

I'm with you Ryudo on the TG16.

It really was an innovative but overlooked system- from the CD attachment as you mentioned, plus the über-cool hu-cards also playable on the TurboExpress; to the user-selectable rapid-fire on the controllers. Perfect for all the shooters the system was blessed with.

It was also cool how the TurboExpress had a TV tuner attachment. Yup, the TG16 is easily in my top 5 fav consoles.

On relaxing nights, I chill out watching Conan the Barbarian while eating raw bear meat (from a creature I felled with my own bare hands) and washing it down with straight gin out of a rusty goblet. Sometimes it's good to take it easy, you know.

I have always wanted to visit Canada. Seems like a really awesome place and in many cases gives the impression it's what the US wishes it was. I don't get why people in the US bash Canada but at the same time I don't agree often with this country and don't own any flags n shit.

TBH some Canadians bash the US too. I think it's just a friendly, sibling rivalry kind of thing.
