This is the most depressing but at the same time most ingenious things ever made. Now they HAVE to put a dog in the next game. It'd be the best thing ever.

I am always in favor of the Ronseal approach. For those who don't get that reference, it means I like to know exactly what I'll get when I click on a topic title. I largely ignore all-purpose threads with generic titles because there's no telling whether I'll find anything relevant to my interests within. Which means I probably miss some posts that would interest me, but I can't be bothered wading through the unknown to find out. I want to be able to clearly judge from the title whether it's worth my while opening the thread and poring over its contents.

No matter which way the forums are set up, people are still free to post whatever they want (within the guidelines, obviously) for all to see. Whether it's all compiled into fewer-but-lengthier topics, or more-but-shorter topics, no one is being limited in what they can post.
There's nothing tyrannical, forceful, or restrictive going on, so I honestly don't see why any of this would elicit anger of any kind.

All ill say all these sources said the PS4 would be online, no used games, track our DNA and so on.

I really hope MS would not be that dumb because yes many people have a connection but many also have issues with their Broadband. [Would it need to be a BB connection or just internet?]

We have all seen this before but never fully sunk in for me until doing a little reading today.
Many have heard how when Sega panicked seeing the specs for PSone Sega rushed more processors in Saturn so it could contend with the more 3D game focused PSone. Also Saturn didn't use triangles like PSone or N64. used Quadrilaterals which was better but much harder to work with. So Saturn had a multitude of hardware problems that put developers off. So seeing this footage of Shenmue on Saturn to me this is far more impressive looking considering the machine they had to work with than Dreamcast. Dreamcast version looks great and even today. Just to me with all the damn hurdles Saturn had this is amazing and might be one of the best if not the best looking game on the big 3 consoles. Esp the faces for 32 bit era for faces to be that detailed and expressive was just not seen.

The greatest tragedy right now is that projects as detailed and creative aren't desired and instead of how cheap you can make a game and sell as much copies as possible. The artistic value and depth doesn't have the place it once had.

But if you'd bother to research you'd know that already, in fact you could have known it right after you read it if you were paying attention because not even an hour after the report the Boston Police said it wasn't true and they didn't know where NYP were getting their info. Again, the guy was tackled for being foreign and running from an explosion at an international marathon, and was then questioned. He could have had his life ruined because of some racist idiot.

That first scene where you see the corridor with all the corpses strewn everywhere and it makes you think "Damn. What kind of badass motherfucker am I gonna face off against now?". Not a single ounce of disappointment is experienced when he makes his full entrance. Twin Snakes diluted the experience somewhat by showing him offing all the soldiers but that doesn't detract from his overall brilliant design.

Kinda similar reasoning to the above choice I guess and you'd argue that it's not really a character but that design coupled with that first experience will stick with me forever. I can remember playing Resident Evil 2 for the first time with a mate and we both shat ourselves when we saw that brief scuttle of the Licker across the window prior to your first encounter. We were both sucked in after that and completed the whole game in a very long afternoon.

Back in the day when I would play fighting games I always liked to vary my character selection rather than stick to the tried and tested favourite. That all changed with Soul Calibur though. Its official guys. I'm moving back to Japan in February next year!
Im now in the process of selling around 75% of my possesions to decrease the move load.
I'll have a listing and pictures for some games and gaming related swag items that are just not space efficient for me anymore.
No that doesnt include my Shenmue collection ;)

Me and my wife are very excited and although we were trying for the fall this year, we now know that atleast I have a guranteed job lined up for when I get there instead of just winging it.

Once I get there with my workers visa(for time/money savings) I will then change it to a spouse visa for permanent resident status. Once ive been there a year or so ill then proceed to start house hunting or even remodling a home on my parents in-law's land. Then que the baby making music if it hasnt already begun the momment I get to Japan.

I cant wait. Im still so far off yet this gives me alot of time to continue working on savings for the house.

It's weird, over the years it's kind of grown to be one of those games I can always jump back into just for a level or two, just to have some fun. I've probably gone through it about five times altogether now. It's just weird because most licensed games don't have that effect for me at all.
It's like, even though it's part of this bigger franchise, it feels different enough from other iterations that it's able to stand legitimately as an independent videogame in my eyes, rather than just some "based on" nonsense. The PS1 game is the same way.
