Re: Angriest you've ever gotten at Shenmue?

That's one of the moments in the game that always baffles me. For some reason it forces you to come back the next day. Usually it's too late for the meeting, wich I guess is before or during the lunch break. This is a really dumb decission as you always run around and ask the stupid harbor workes dozends of times where to find a job.

I managed to get it him to show up the same day once. Went into the arcade early, showed Chai who's boss and then went to Jimmy and then straight to the harbor. There I talked about to the guy in front of the gate next to warehouse 18 and then with the foreman inside the warehouse. He'll tell you that he saw a young guy around warehouse 12 that recently got a job or something, basically leading you towards Goro. And tada, he showed up immediately.

Re: Shenmue 2 'Post Mortem'?

At the end of the main presentation, a slide showed 2000 as the date Shenmue II development began, followed by the words, "To be continued..." This led many viewers to assume or speculate that a second postmortem would cover Shenmue II in more detail, but GDC management has denied such plans ( http://tinyurl.com/gdcnope ). Instead we believe it was just a nod to the way the first game ended, with Ryo's departure from Yokosuka. This attempted symmetry between Shenmue the game and Shenmue the presentation is certainly more likely than the cruel parody of Shenmue II's cliffhanger interpreted by viewers less familiar with Yu's nature. This is a man whose eyes filled with tears reminiscing about the game. He ain't no troll.

Re: Eurogamer: 'Shenmue 3 as close to being announced.....

Wait a minute......did you quote yourself in your sig......then follow up with "Bunny power"???

http://i49.tinypic.com/16bbo5f.png

Now it could be because its 2am and I find myself drunk and back on ye olde dojo but good god reading your posts are making me cringe. I am feeling physically awkward in my own body reading what you are saying. Just to be clear i'm not saying what you are saying is wrong (I am not saying its right either) but that cannot be how you really speak and carry yourself in real life is it? My god man.

Taking offense at that statement says more about yourself than me, which I'm sorry about. There is nothing presumptuous about saying the world is filled with simple-minded people. You don't have to know everyone to recognize commodities and trends.

I literally fucking lol'd...are you really Jeff?

I don't really know how to describe it....it's almost like your a real life bad caricature of the big bang theory, Like I feel like you would go into a Japanese Restaurant in the middle of Boston and order everything in japanese including your dr. pepperu and then smirk at the group sitting across from you (that's making fun of you) feeling accomplished.

Like you I have a bad habit of going on tangents and I am sorry......I didn't intend to make my first post in a long time trying to bash anyone but the shenmue bug bit me and i'm sitting here playing this goddamn big or small on nulldc and I cannot get a fucking chow to save my life.

Re: NeoGAF: New Japanese trademark from Sega (Shenmue)

Yeah. Sorry. Until an hd version is released or something, I'm done with the Dojo. Someone mentions Shenmue in some pr scrawl and you guys jump at the chance to celebrate that there's a chance. The same shit, and for YEARS. Yeah, I'm done. I'll be replaying these games via emulator, but you can count me out on being a part of such a naive, gullible, desperate community. Shenmue is dead, guys.

That's fine if you refuse to believe the hype. Hell, I've given up on it myself. The last chance we had to get the sequel we've wanted came and went as soon as we made it to the PS3/360/Wii era systems in my opinion, but I'd maybe cool it with the insulting comments toward others for having hope. Nobody is required to feel the same way you do about the situation, and throwing around condescending words only shows how insecure you are. Frankly, if it means one less person throwing gasoline on the fire of hatred, I support your departure.

Re: Shenmue 2D

Sorry to bump this, but I wanted to share a concept art screen I made based on these sprites, because I really liked them. Hope you don't mind.

http://mooncalfstudios.com/images/shenmue%20adventure.jpg

I'd love to see this happen. Imagine if 1 & 2 were remade with this style of gameplay, but with Streets of Rage style battle gameplay mixed with this old school point & click adventure. Shenmue 3 could be made on a budget of something insanely small, if it too followed this style. I doubt Yu would get behind the idea, but it's nice to dream.

Re: Yu Suzuki at Gamelab 2014 (Information & Multimedia)

People underestimate the popularity of this series alot.

I think it's the other way around, Shenmue fans overestimate the popularity. I study videogame programming in a group of 20 no one has played shenmue, and not even professors (they just know it was a really innovative game, and appears from time to time in the powerpoints).

People KNOW about shenmue because we are a vocal crowd, most people haven't even played shenmue. Even at the time shenmue was a love/hate game.

Let's not create this ecochamber of thinking about shenmue like the most requested game in all history and revered as the best game ever made, it's not. We just yell louder (as a lot of little communities do).

Amihama (FREE 7 Remix)

A week ago when LanDC posted his White Tiger mix, I wasn't kidding around when I said it made me want to do a Shenmue remix. Here goes nothing.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrlO05LCGT0

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JrlO05LCGT0

:::::: DOWNLOAD LINK BELOW ::::::

https://sites.google.com/site/redrumb1/Amihama.mp3

This right here is a remix of the New Yokosuka Harbor (FREE 7) song that I recently made. It's a Shenmue song has never been remixed before, so why not? I worked my ass off trying to get this composition as close as possible, with a bit of added arrangement and my own spin on the track. It also features some FREE 6 on it to give it that Harbor Super Mix type of feel. If you know what Streets of Rage is and know what the song titles are, you'll get what I mean by that.

Also, I promise you that there is more where this came from. I'm planning on doing a Shenmue OST remix album and this will be one of the tracks on it. It might take a few months, but it'll get done. I already have concepted what I want to do, which are all tracks that have no MIDIs and have never been done before properly by anybody.

Anyways, enjoy this one. Feedback is always welcome.

I'm extremely pleased with how they came out I'm seriously considering selling a blank kits eBay for cheap of both mirrors for the Shenmue community so you guys can all make your own to your something similar to the things you find in stores where it is a blank little Chibi character. Wonder if anyone would be interested anyway these look great on display next to my ryo hazuki statue and soon my Lan di! Thanks everyone for the great reference photos and encouragement finish this project much appreciated if anyone's interested let me know I may print out a few more and list them on the Internet with the stands and if I do list them they will be blank so people can paint them themselves

Re: Shenmue model hunt help.

Here are some references you have made towards selling & Price Tags

i used a ryo model i had and cleaned up his hair hands and body and am in the process of 3d printing him with a base and phoenix mirror top! if it comes out good i may print paint n sell them! i want to make a lan di with the dragon base does anyone have a ingame model of lan di so i can make this 2 pack of amiibo!?

if you have a ingame lan di POST IT HERE FOR ME i would greatly appreciate it so i can clean up his model too it today too...

Well i can not wait to start painting them! if they turn out well like they will i may make more n sell them :) very happy with the progress of this project thus far...

here is the almost finshed set! all that is left to do is more detail and clear coat sealer~ i want to make joy, ren, Iwao and nozomi but am having no luck finding their models... if someone can provide them to me i would appreciate it! i want to make as amny figures from this game as i can!

not for sale... but everything has a price :)

Thanks so much for the models let me know! when i can get them so i can begin fixing up their models and printing! also to print one model out it all depends on which one each one requires their own amount of time and plastic. also would you want it painted? they each took 6-7 hours to finish. the faces alone took 4 hours lol! so let me know and i can give a price on one .

here are the final photos all 3 have been cleared with a matte finish clearcoat and it really made the colors pop on the faces and clothing.it has been a long journey but man i am super pleased with them! hopefully someone can provide me with IWAO, ren nozomi, joy in game models also a don niu and xiuying hong! i need as many ingame models from 1 and 2 as i can get in the A pose so i can fix them and make them printable! :) anyway if anyone has them PM me so i can start on more! enjoy!

(NOT FOR SALE BUT... EVERYTHING HAS A PRICE :) anyone interested let me know... )

1) These are just some references to making money ,
2) There are tons of posts of you constantly asking for models.

I'm not pissing on your parade because I'm trying to be a dick ..
I'm pissing on your parade because I have problems with the way you are running your ' Amiibo (Trademark) business Empire ON A WEBSITE THAT HAS KEPT SHENMUE ALIVE FOR THE PAST 15 YEARS without Unlicenced Ebay or Paypal sales, trying to make it sound less innocent because you have donated money to a Shenmue Kikstarter that doesnt exist anymore is also quite aggrivating.

I honestly couldnt care less who you sell models to they are clearly a desirable item and SEGA have been Lazy at any kind of marketing but learn to get the models yourself OR if you are a skilled 3D artist as this link seems to show RyoHD.carbonmade.com you should have no problem modeling them from scratch. This is all I will say on the matter, but I choose not to help you .. then again everything has a price ](*,)

Re: Shenmue Phoenix and dragon mirrors back in producti/requ

also you do realize those mirrors you showed are fan made right!?

Fanmade for what kind of purpose? To sell them and/or make money of it? No, it was a gift for Yu-San (AFAIK):

http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/shenmue/images/9/9e/Shenmue_mirrors_.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20140123111657

That's complete bullshit i only used the photos as reference! i dont even know how to rip models from the game at all... what is wrong with everyone? the only reason it has the polygonal edges is because i did not want these high poly because my 3d program i use to load them into for the 3d print works better when the poly count is low...

I do believe you that you modelled the mirrors because the polycount of your mirrors is not the same compared to the mirrors from the game. However the trademark thing remains as an issue. You can't just use the design of nike shoes as reference and change a few small things which only can be seen by more detailed analyse.

i am doing nothing illegal

So you are 100% sure you make nothing illegal here? Please do me a favour and contact Sega or Yus-team and ask them. Its a one thing to create fan made stuff for yourself another to sell that stuff and make money of it.

they were 100% created by me, they belong to me, and are unique to me as a modeler, i did every process started with a cylinder extruded the shapes and made it all watertight then triangulated every last damn polygon on these models nothing was from a game or anyone else...

the files are mine i created them

Same goes for fake shoes which are forbidden on the market. People who creates fake shoes are using the original shoes as reference as you use the original mirrors as reference.
Copryright and Trademarks exists for reason. What do you think what will happen if everyone will start making those kind of shoes and selling them on ebay?

Re: Shenmue Piano Collection

Hi,

I already posted this on Shenmue topic, but I'm reposting in this community area :)

We're running campaign to produce Piano Collection from shenmue soundtrack, please consider donating , thank you :).
https://igg.me/at/6MnKQ1xoPgU/x/15261417

Im really SICK and tired of people who try to profit from the Shenmue Licence, and not just try to profit, but try to pass off half-assed work as their own and exploiting the dumb shenmue fans who will pay good money for anything with the logo on.

This 'Demo'
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivvMq4eyGTA

Is CLEARLY run through Midi Software and has not been played by a Pianist or someone who is a tallented playing an actual piano. And its not even a good Midi sound there are TONS of really good sounding Piano Software

The ORIGINAL soundtracks can be downloaded and there is a VAST library of Shenmue Midi's

I think I speak for at least 5 people here when I say

FUCK OFF !
