GTA V trailer coming 11/2/11

I have little interest in GTA anymore, I played III, Vice City, SA, they were all good and progressed the series. idk what the fuck they were thinking with IV though, it was PS2 gameplay with pretty graphics and physics, I played it long enough to wreak some havoc in liberty city for a few hours and was like bleh, same old same old, but with less features. I say throw away just about every aspect of the GTA series and re work it from the ground up, the crime/mafia sub genre needs a serious revamp in gaming IV still relied on a pretty old system when it released and it felt far from next gen game play, GTA leads the way in this genre so it needs to reset the standard as it did with GTA III. A serious, sophisticated, and strong character driven story with a slew of new ideas implemented into gameplay, fight, and gun mechanics would get me pumped for a new GTA. I love the crime/big city stories and movies, but gaming needs to rework the whole genre.

I just fail to see why R* should change what they are doing for others. If they should like I said earlier every movie or TV show should have sex removed as they are just as easy to get hold of.

Plus other then Red Dead I've not actually seen a R* game where they show you sex on camera. The only thing in a GTA game was that hot coffee patch which I think you had to hack the game to find. If a child of 8 can hack a game then good on him he deserves a reward.

Also why are people complaing about the story telling in a GTA game? That's like complaing about the story telling in a Naked Gun movie. Other then GTAIV story isn't the main thing they are trying to push it's more about the mindless fun gameplay.

Its more or less a drug dealer sim. You whip cocaine in the streets the whole game.

Well lots of games do that, I mean Yakuza 4 did.

I was also thinking that another thing Y4 did was present that "economic crisis" thing, particularly in Akiyama's bit (but not entirely, pratically in all of the new characters, with homelessness and immigration also tackled). And even if the game at times is quite lighthearted, the serious things were indeed serious, and that's something Rockstar usually isn't very good at. There are some things you can't mess around with, and serious social issues like these were usually inserted irresponsibly in previous GTA games.

Some spectulation going around that it might not come on a disc but simply have a download code in the case. Sounds BS and i really hope it is just that!

Some more rumors about the game...

-The protagonist is Hispanic and his name is Adrian.

-It takes place in San Andreas in 2012. The Mayan end of the world is parodied a lot because of this.

-You start out in Los Santos and are in your rival’s turf, Varrios Los Aztecas, after getting beaten up and robbed.

-Multiplayer is in again. There are a couple of new game modes, co-op story, and 32-player game modes for consoles and 64 player for PC. PC also includes dedicated servers.

-PC comes out on launch and is being ported by Leeds. From what they have shown it is optimized much better than GTA 4.

-Gang turf wars are back. This time not only the general gang are in charge but different sets such as 57th Ballas or the Eastside Azteca. They have their own graffiti. You can tag up stuff with custom sprays now too.

-The timeline continues off of GTA 4. It is referenced at least twice.

-Car modding is back so is low riding.

-There are 9 radio stations. It features a range of music. Some of the rap is new, some is old. There’s a better selection than GTA 4.

-Military has returned in the 6 star wanted level except they are referred to as National Guard.

-Cover system is upgraded and plays more smoothly.

-The moral decisions you saw in GTA IV have more effect on the story now. There are a total of 4 unique endings. 2 'bad', 2 'good'.

-More girlfriends.

-Parachutes.

-Fun cheats are back!
