I would vastly prefer this to DL only through steam, especially if there was a LE version for my shelf.

Apparently its doing really well. Both games hit the top 5 a few times, hopefully this means Ys 6 and Tits are next.
I'd imagine Konami might be making Ys 6 a problem still Xseed has basically nailed down the names (like Luta, Reah and Toal as opposed to Loutha, Lair and Toar.) so it'd be interesting to see if any names get repeated in their version of 6.

Xseeds mistake there is Ys fans at least a majority of them. Have Ys Origins on PC with English Patches. They physically own the game. Steam. Not so much. If Xseed put it on 3DS or PSV in a box. Might sell better. You know two on this forum who would only snatch it if it were in a box.

Man, that blurry filter is effin' ugly. I was hoping it just looked "meh" in screens, but it looks just as bad in motion. They should have left that out in favor of crisp, clean colors. The Vita is clearly powerful enough for it.
Maybe they should opt for a good cell-shaded look next time. That'd be perfect for Ys.
I'm left oddly underwhelmed looking at the gameplay, but it's neither here nor there; I'll obviously be getting the game anyway.
The weird thing about the Ys series, to me at least, is that it never initially looks amazing. I think the series' consistent lack of true popularity abroad of Japan can be attributed to that.
But once you actually get your hands on it, things totally turn around. The games always feel amazing.
Still disappointed in the different art style the series has taken on, but eh. I'll live.

Man, that's just bad.
It reminds me (in those pics at least) of when you see a PS1 game running on a PC emulator, with the textures all smoothed out and blurred together. That's a slight exaggeration of course, but it's still just a really bad effect.
