I'm really looking forward to this game. Especially after seeing the details of the special edition.

Fuck, this game keeps looking more and more awesome. It's weird, initially I didn't look into Yakuza 3 much because it seemed like it was going to stay in Japan and I didn't want to get my hopes up too high. So any footage I see of it now is completely new to me (even though footage has been readily available for a year now). At least the entire story will be a complete surprise to me.
Luckily, it's coming out right after my birthday, so I should be loaded enough to get both this and Final Fantasy 13 the first day they come out (and they do come out on the same day, if I'm not mistaken). As much as I want to play FF13, though, I think I'll most likely be popping Yakuza 3 in first.
Ahh, can't wait.

Yeah other then the odd few fighting scenes I never see anything. Here in the UK Yakuza comes out 3 days after FFXIII I don't know if the US even have a date yet.

Yeah, it has a date. March 9, same as FF13. Least that's what it says on Amazon, and I'm sure I saw it that way elsewhere (gaming sites and all).
You Brits are lucky though. Both Yakuza and FF are getting special editions over there, while the US is only getting regular versions. Just a little miffed about that. Seems strange, especially since you guys are usually the ones that get shafted when it comes to this kind of thing. :P

You get extras for Yakuza 3 as long as you preorder it at Gamestop I believe.

Except Gamestop reaps you of your soul and dignity in pre ordering from them.

I just beat the first one and I'm going through part 2 as we speak. Damn. I didnt know that Yakuza was this awesome. I'm not about to go crazy and put it above Shenmue, but Sega has definitely got a new fan of the series.

Whoever the director was of this game had to have worked on Shenmue. The game has Shenmue's aura (hard to really put into words) combined with the kick ass quality that made Sega what they once was. Sega definitely made their mark with this game, I forgot I was playing it on PlayStation to be honest.

I cant help but to believe that Yakuza and Shenmue would have been Sega's top two most coveted franchises had they still had their own console.

I won't be pre-ordering. You can still buy the special edition in store. Not that I'm all that interested in the extra content.

For those who were going to watch it on youtube I found someone who has the cutscenes up for both games.

Yakuza: http://www.youtube.com/user/StrikeArran ... 476A2CBFC3

Yakuza 2: http://www.youtube.com/user/StrikeArran ... AC70CAB015

The person also has the movie on their profile.

Nice one, I'll watch them tomorrow. I will get the first two now I've got a PS2 but I got a lot of work to do so I don't have the time to play them right now.
