Nice one, I'll watch them tomorrow. I will get the first two now I've got a PS2 but I got a lot of work to do so I don't have the time to play them right now.

I'd save it until you do have time and not ruin the plot twists. Also by the time you have beat the first two games maybe the third will be cheaper.

I think once you've played them it ain't cheating. There were certain scenes I watched just to jog my memory since it's been about 5 years since I played the original.

Started playing Yakuza 2 today. The first one hasn't been delivered yet and temptation got the better of me.

I have to say though, after playing through four chapters I'm not enjoying it. Repetitive random fights and the lack of camera control has annoyed me. The story so far is ok and the cut scenes have a nice Shenmue feel to them but that's about it. I will play to the end before I decide to get the third game, have to give it a chance I know.

Yakuza 2 is amazing.
Of course, you also didn't play the first. They're very story-based, so you should really have waited.

Yeah got to say you should have waited. Problem is you've most likely ruined the story twists of the first game.

I had held off completing Yakuza 2 since I thought this game wouldn't be announced and when it was announced I was psyched but then, as I went back to complete the rest of Yakuza 2 tragedy struck my god damn Playstation 2 first controller port stopped working!.
I honestly can't believe it, this is my first broken game console ever and I own ALOT of game consoles..

I am not really up-to-date with new consoles, at this moment in time I only own a Wii so I am wondering how the Playstation 3 backward compatibility works, or should I just buy another Playstation 2?

Only the first two models of the PS3 play PS2 games. So unless you go on ebay your need another PS2.

^ Correction, the 40gb system didn't play PS2 games. Only the 60gb system which had memory stick slots on the front played them.

Or at least the UK models were.

Well I set up a Japenese PSN account to try the demo that's downloading now. Good thing is the story won't be ruined since I don't understand Japenese.

How does one go about setting up a japanese account? My PS Store goes directly to the american store... I can't figure how someone might connect to a different one.
