I loved this intro. Everytime i see it its a nostalgic slap across the face. Loved the view of midgar, the tune and the way it flawlessly merges into the gameplay.

This is why i had sticky jocks after seeing the ps3 FFVII tech demo.

Man, nice choices the last few posts. I definitely would have posted the FFVII ones if no one else did eventually.

But since I missed my chance on that one, I'll go with the FFVIII intro, which I still consider one of the best intros ever made. We've all seen it, we all know it's great. I'll just leave it at that.

Ghost in the Shell for PS1.
Absolutely stellar 2D animation, great use of color, awesome action, and a simple but cool techno music track. Just an all around excellent intro, and certainly one of the best from the PS1 era.

Nothing really stands out about this but in 2002 this meant so much. After an 8 year drought and finally coming back and then the visuals were stunning this made fans of the series jizz themselves premature.

The best part back then was that little pause waiting for her to come out of her ship then as she flips and lands,the camera pans around her with a purposely placed tease of brief silence,fans once again were treated with that familiar Samus theme music. Just the first 3 minutes is all that is needed to watch.

Played Digital Devil Saga so I had some idea of the Shin Megami Tensei series, but this video was the first time I heard of Persona 3. Downright bizarre intro but very stylish and before I knew it, I bought the game and never regretted it.

Yeah I like the left for dead intro too. It makes you want to play it. I find a lot of zombie games are like that. You already know you're going to be scared/freaked out so it makes for a good intro anyways.

Good to see a topic like this up again. I was sick of the crap. Anyway, this game is all that comes to mind at the moment. It brings back fond memories of a game store that I use to practically live at. It was an addictive game right next to MK III. I used to skip school at an enrichment program on the weekend to just go to this store and eat and play games. They had a food court and two game booths. I was friends with the owners of both. All we did was talk about coming games and past classics like Castlevania SOTN. I got to play Blue Stinger early at this store for the Dreamcast.
I don't mind having wasted my mental gifts for those memories. (Just thought I'd attach a story.)

The intro for Soul of the Samurai (since I just recently beat it). I'm kind of a sucker now for that sort of "lesser" quality cg in PS1 games. Just throws me back every time. Love it.
And in this case, it has my absolute favorite Konami logo scene (I guess you could call it that) right at the very beginning, with the lightning casting a shadow, the film grain, and the quick shamisen music. Just really cool and stylish.
