I keep putting in games, downloading demos just to see some graphics or gameplay which makes this generation better than the last. Sure, you have excellent games like BioShock, Gears and Mass Effect, but the majority of games are not that great.

Actually, the problem with this generation is its too much like the last. From Mega Drive to Playstation, 3D graphics gave us radical new ways of playing. Playstation to Xbox gave us again radicaly different ways of playing games as 3D graphics could be used in much better ways, take GTA III compared to the second as a perfect example.
Now we have come to yet another generation, and instead of a new way of playing games, we have HD graphics. Most are the same graphic detail as previous generation but simply made HD.

The Xbox 360 controller adds nothing new in terms of features from the previous controller, but removes features in the context sensetive buttons.

I'm not a fan of the Wii, but it is that radical change in gaming we need every generation, else gaming will become saturated. Who even bothers with the game manuals anymore? No one because they all play the same.

I can kinda see your point, I still think more good games will come out though. I think these days they take advantage of the features they have and it goes too far.

I think you guys are nuts if you don't think this generation of gaming has been pretty great. To each his own though, and I don't really feel like really diving into that discussion too much.

For Fable II, I think it's pretty solid. I've logged a little more than 20 hours and there's a bunch of side stuff I still need to do (and I'm not done with the main quest). It's funny, cause like Fable I my favorite part of the game is the actual combat and not really much of the "world interaction" type stuff (which still doesn't quite reach its potential). Though I'm having fun trying to buy all the stores and real estate and all that.

My complaints are that, like the first, the expression system is pretty weak and as the game goes on you can basically marry anyone at will (like Riku mentioned before). Also, it just doesn't feel like you're interacting with people given there's no dialogue, and you can just read up on everyones likes and dislikes from a menu.

So far there really aren't a lot of weapons and clothes. Sure, I don't play this game to play dress up but for men there are probably about 10 articles of clothing in each "category", which isn't really satisfying given the point of having clothes over armor is for cosmetic reasons.

The maps are also pretty weak...I really have no idea where each town stands in relation to each other. I just remember the towns by their "waypoints".

However, like I said before, the combat is simple, yet effective and pretty fun. The physical combat takes some getting used to but works well once you get used to it. Range attacks are pretty standard, but with some cool wrinkles thrown in for an rpg of this type. I love the way the magic is handled though with the whole "tier" system. It really makes it easy to use a bunch of spells in combination...it's done very well. Once you really become a powerful magic user, you're pretty unstoppable though.

I'm also digging the whole "economy" thing. I honestly didn't play fable 1 more than once (and that was a short amount of time too) but my initial impressions are that fable II is much better in many ways.

Been playing this for the last week or so and im loving it. Relations are still as weak as the first with you being able to marry someone after a minute of meeting them. Its also annoying how people just let themselves in my house! Might start killing them all.

Love the dog, thought it would get on my nerves but i started liking it almost right away.

Biggest disspointment was the ending or rather the last fight. Hold a bloody button for about 20 seconds and its over? Damn you Lionhead!
Also where are the big monsters? I wanted another Dragon, biggest thing seems to be the troll?

Sadly i get the feeling some story has been saved for DLC but i would give the game 8/10. Needs a shit load more stuff to buy. Fable 1 had so many tattos, Armor and so on it makes Fable 2 feel a bit light.

Are you guys good or evil? I decided to play the game first time not conciously being good or evil, just making the decision I would in real life. 2 hours in my character is 100% evil and corrupt.

Have to agree here. Other then the troll I can't think of any other bosses. They just seemed to throw more random bad guys at you. But when they did that they gave you about two or three people to fight on yur side.

Good I have butterflies flying round me.

The more I think back on the game the weaker it sounds. The main points that I thinked helped it were the dog and being able to buy all the shops.

Just completed the game earlier, the ending was pretty dissapointing. I didn't like the idea of going back as a kid and shooting bottles too..
But overall it was a good game, the game play was fun, the graphics were really good but the story wasn't too great. It started off as a great game but then turned into a good game as you play it more and more and the story is way too short. This is meant to be an rpg people.
