That's a new trailer, but the game was actually announced quite a while ago. I was hoping for something vaguely worthwhile, but it looks pretty weak so far. Besides anything else, a fast-paced online FPS is just the wrong format for the franchise to begin with. I'm doubting there'll be a worthwhile single-player campaign at all, mainly because the thing is Korean-developed, as far as I can remember (I believe that's the language being spoken in the trailer, right?). And Korean gamers are all about online competition.
Eh. I dunno, somehow it's just rubbing me the wrong way so far. I'll keep an eye out, but I'm really not expecting any of the majesty of the SAC anime. And that would really be the only reason to pay attention to it, to experience some modicum of the same feeling that the show provided. Just not seeing any of it so far.

All good choices. Those are all some of my favorites of "last" gen (still the current gen for me). Space Marine and The Saboteur count as particular underappreciated gems in my eyes.

a.) It's always worth it to bother with Ratchet & Clank. Whichever one you're talking about. The whole series is worthwhile.
b.) Red Faction might not be the most inventive game around, but if you really have the urge to blow some serious shit up, Guerrilla is a great freakin' time. Satisfying as hell to secretly plant charges around the base of a large structure and successfully bring it down with one flip of the detonator switch.
c.) Binary Domain is fantastic. The shooting is pretty standard stuff for the most part, but the story is really good by the end. And on the gameplay end, even though the shooting is pretty basic stuff, there's enough of a variety in situations and environments to keep it engaging. Brilliant game. Much cooler sense of style than most other shooters.

Jesus Christ, I thought that was a joke at first. Had to look it up. Man, it's like they learned absolutely nothing from the backlash against Time Crisis 4.
Seriously, those are some of the douchiest-looking character designs I've ever seen for a videogame.
In no way does that mean I won't play the hell out of it if I get the chance, though. I'm weirdly excited about the prospects of a new one... even if those characters do look like they're a part of some flaming ultra-gay frat house.
Oh Richard Miller. Where oh where did you go?

Got my any% time down to 18:09 in Super Metroid -- this category makes use of out-of-bounds and arbitrary code execution to trigger the escape early.

I'm sort of satisfied with this run so I can now focus on getting my "no out-of-bounds" run down to my goal of less than 50 minutes.

Nah man, I'm welcoming that design since I honestly believe it's intentional at this point. It just has to be. Like an in joke of some sort at Namco - VSSE's best agents are now retired and we're stuck with the frat boys. I honestly hope the inevitable TC6 has some hipster wearing douchey glasses and ugly as fuck shirt with a dumb saying on the front of it and a curly moustache dude with a massive mop of hair on his head with no side hair at all (Like the SS during WWII), since you know, that'd just put it over the top for me. Also make his partner wear a onesie with his hood up.

But yeah, I'm just happy we're getting a new TC regardless. I wonder if they'll redesign Wild Dog with a ridiculous curly moustache in TC5? :rotflmao:

Help me with this decision people!
Tough decision for my next purchase, given that next month is christmas and I will be spending almost every last cent on food, gifts and alcohol, this may well be the last game i buy this year.
Tossing up between AC: Unity, DA Inquisition and Far Cry 4!
Three very different games, but they all look soo good! Not quite sure what i'll be in the mood for after finishing The Evil Within.

Obvious coming from me, but I'd personally say Unity. Haven't played it yet, but just based on how the series has been thus far, I'm absolutely sure there's tons of content to explore if you want 100%, so it should last a while. I've personally always found the AC series to be pretty replayable, too. I always have fun repeating the same missions in different ways, if the option is present.
I enjoyed Far Cry 3 a lot, but the problem is that it was kind of a "one time and I'm done" sort of deal. I really don't feel any desire to replay it, and from everything I've seen, Far Cry 4 is a very similar game, so I expect basically the same from it. Probably great the first time through (I'm sure I'll enjoy it a lot), but it likely won't be quite as strong on repeat.
As for Dragon Age, it likely has the most content and longevity out of all of them (I'm only guessing that since it's an RPG), but I've really never seen the appeal of the series. It just looks so generic. But hey, that's just me. I guess it depends on whether you were big into the previous titles or not.

Im picking up DA:I soon. Ive seen all the reviews and see nothing but stellar content. I didnt get into the previous games but after researching the story and everything about DAI, its a game that you can play for 150+ hours with the content keeping up with you.

ACU seems like a very quick single play through followed by a trade in after getting all the trophies. I'll pick up ACU once it gets patched and is cheaper. I'm interested in the game, just not an urgent buy for me. I'll probably get around to Watch Dogs first as I still havent picked that up.

Far Cry 4 I played the demo for and had alot of fun, but would come third on the list for me just personally. Ive never played a Far Cry before but this will be my first.

If I was as ripped as he is I'd probably wear a top like that all the time, too.

Not the hair style though, fuck that.

I would go with either DA:I or Far Cry 4 if that’s to be your last game for the year. Just because AC games are generally pretty short with not much replay value after you beat them.

Axm asked for impressions of Inquisition in the recent purchases thread too, but I wanted some real game time under my belt before I commented on it. No spoilers to follow except for the name of the first area if that matters to anyone. I just hit the 30 hour mark last night and it’s GOTY for me. I still feel I haven’t even scratched the surface of what this game has to offer. The environments are huge and extremely detailed. Some of the best I’ve seen in years. I spent roughly 15 hours in the first major area you get to after the prologue (Hinterlands) doing side quests and exploring before I finally moved on with the story, leaving behind unfinished quests and an area with enemies much higher level than my party. Once you leave that is where the game really kicks into gear. The combat is what you would expect, a blend between Origins and DA2. Basic attack is mapped to R2 on console, with the abilities mapped to the face buttons; L2 switches them to another set. They actually managed to incorporate the tactical view from PC to PS4 as well. You hit the touch pad to snap to a top down view of the battlefield, and then issue individual commands to your party members, and then tap the pad a second time to watch the chaos unfold. It works great for the more difficult boss battles, but does have a few camera issues. The music is outstanding. The characters are well developed and the lore is ridiculously deep. Hell even the start menu is epic. You hear the main theme play while watching the Mages and Templars march side by side on the way to the Enclave, which sets the entire game into motion.
