Sales have sucked for both. GR ended rather abrupt so the story was not finished. THQ is about to go under. Joe Mad left Vigil and Vigil being owned by THQ well their days maybe numbered as well. DSII left on a figurative and nearly literal cliffhanger. There is little chance we see more from them.

Unless people stop suing a dead studio and they pay everyone get the band back together and Curt can actually run a business then pfft no problemo! 10 sequels!

When your game cannot reach the top 20 in the first month. You pretty much have failed. THQ spent tons on marketing TV,Online,Promo's. They were hoping DSII was the killer app to save their ass. DSII was in the top 20 1 week. Sales took a sharp nose dive after that. THQ last hope is Wii U launch but they need it to sell at least 3-4 million. Not going to happen. Gravity Rush is a niche game with Zero marketing. Go Sony! It's done.

I'm actually pretty optimistic about the possibility of a Gravity Rush 2. Keiichiro Toyama's Siren games were never exactly huge either, but they made three games and a movie out of that, then gave him pretty much free reign on his next project (GR). A bit like Ueda, Toyama seems to be one of those guys that Sony Japan have actual faith in. And he's said he wants to do more for the series.
And it's a good mention for this topic anyway, since not only does it end abruptly, but almost nothing in its storyline is properly explained. The whole way through, it raises question after question, but doesn't answer much at all. So yeah, it needs a continuation as much as Shenmue does.

Didn't the rights go up for auction? And Epic made a new studio for just about everyone that worked on it.

You mean putting 2 games that only came out this year on the list? Yeah it is too early to right them off. And if THQ dies guess what? Fire sale on all their IP's.

Well we'll see with time. I mean not every firesale results in IPs being renewed, Taito had been owned by Square-enix for a while before Estopolis came out.(and we won't see another for a real fuckin long time)) Then theres stuff like Sierra and the load of ips EA owns that will only ever see the light of day outside of possibly a browser game.

I think what Mitts is trying to say is that the games came out this year so it's not like SIII or Beyond Good & Evil where people have been waiting for years. The topic is called games you want given a second chance meaning that they are dead and buried. Stuff like Gravity Rush is just coming to PS+ which could help it and Darksiders 2 is coming to Wiiu.

The Wonder Boy/Moster World series actually was "finished" so to speak. The end of MWIV says the series' story is over, and tells the player to go outside and play.

What was it, oh yeah Sly 2 tells you to go outside too.

Problem is they didn't take into account that I was playing and beat it when its freezing or nearly so outside.

I think it's Yakuza 3 where Kiryuu says he don't let the kids play video games so they stay active.
