Gotta admit, that was mighty obscure, I just remembered they remade Zanac on either the PlayStation or Saturn, couldn't remember. Game looks impressive too. Okay, my turn.

Your hints were like the goggles ZEY DO NUTHINGZ! However the PDA in the pic did and the setting looking like some insane asylum did.

Yes this is indeed true. SaGa 1-3 were released in English as Final Fantasy: Legend 1-3 on the original gameboy. Romancing SaGa 1-3 are really SaGa 4-6. Which makes Saga Frontier the seventh game, Frontier 2 the eighth and Unlimited SaGa the ninth.

Then Square decided to be idiotic and shelved one of the biggest series Japan has ever seen.
