Interesting theory, especially the latter part about the lutece's motivations.

As for the "critical path Booker", I would have thought that there would have only needed to be one, as he effectively closes that specific loop cycle that we play once and for all (well, that's how I took it anyway). I assumed that the past Bookers who also didn't row and who also got heads on the coin toss, were just the Bookers who failed and got killed by song bird "every time" as Elizabeth tells us, until old Elizabeth somehow manages to break the loop by bringing him into the future (how Elizabeth managed to do this is a bit unfathomable to be honest, but I suppose we could explain it on her "powers"?)

But that's the interesting thing about the game, there are so many ways to interpret it. Which I guess some could claim is due to vague and lazy storytelling, but I enjoy hearing different opinions on how things went down.

Thing that baffles me the most though is probably
who was the dead guy in the lighthouse at the beginning, and who killed him? It doesn't seem like the Lutece's style to brutally murder someone like that... :-k

"no, he DOESN'T row"

i didnt get that part. whats it mean?

Indirect spoilers abound

It is rather ambiguous but for me it is just a wry hint towards the multiverse shenanigans early on.

to analyse it more deeply I surmise that as the player we are the 'critical-path' Booker. We are the Booker who successfully manages to close the cycle of Comstock->Elizabeth->NewYork in flames. And this Critical-path successful Booker DOESN'T Row. There will be Bookers which did row, Bookers which also threw Tails and picked number 59 at the raffle, only these Bookers did not go on to 'complete the game' or close the Comstock cycle.

I haven't read this theory anywhere so it is not ratified but I personally believe that the Lutece's, just as they saw New York in flames via a tear, they also saw a Universe where they never met each other and Columbia was never built. And it is my belief that their 'little thought experiment' is simply their attempt to recreate and record the latter outcome... And it is down this branch of multiverse which Booker always throws heads, Doesn't row and picks 77 at the raffle.

My head[s] hurt[s].

OOOOOOOOO...HEEEEEEEE doesnt row!!! i get it now! thankyou

EDIT: ya know i thought that infinites story was fantastic. but the more i read up on stuff that i missed or looked over (for example the he doesnt row thing) the more i am just in awe. irrational did a fantastic job. my hats off

All the 80's songs in this are great as 1900 style songs. Got say that was genius Levine. Somehow he made Girls just want to have fun and Forever Young sound creepy as shit. More songs in there but feel anyone under 20 may not get those references. Almost near the end and it looks decent enough on VGA on Blip. Some cool stuff. Too bad many character models look terrible. Be a cool game for atmosphere and story. Has some damn genuine freaky moments. Just after once could not see having much replayability.

Few games I love but once I play them the first time experience is lost and feel I can't enjoy it a second time or not nearly as much. So for Example Fragile Dreams. Some movies are like that for me. I can only watch once and never again.

Actually beat the game a few days ago and really enjoyed it. Not sure how I feel about the ending sometimes when I think about it I think it was great other times I think it was a little lame.

You misunderstood. Not talking gameplay. Talking story and experience. From a Youtue show I sub anyway but wanted to see what all the hub bub is about. I was likely never going to play the game anyway. I just like what i saw in many ways but for personally would never play it twice. Be awesome one the first run but never want a second. Like I mentioned Fragile Dreams is like that for me. Love it to death but just can't play it again. Same reason I won;t watch the Wrestler again or AI. I loved it but on a story level as not a negative knock but kinda had a emotional impact That I really remember.

all i can add is that after having completed it a while ago, its residual value has greatly dropped within my mind. It is now somewhere around a 6 out of 10. Within our friendship group we call this "bad sinkage"!!

It maintains one fantastic facet but the rest just seems all a bit flashy and thin beneath the veneer.

Was still worth my time. Just not a classic.
