Looks kind of like the gang from Jet Set are fans of Shenmue.

EDIT: Just avoiding a double-post.

This picture makes me happy. No, not in my pants.
Well... maybe.

Do any of you guys have a site you would recommend for buying used import(Jp) consoles? Specifically PS2.

I found this site:
http://www.japangamestock.com/
but they're slightly too retro for my current needs and don't have what I'm looking for.

tl;dr I want to buy a Japanese PS2 and don't want to spend a fortune. Am I SOL?

Just out of curiosity, why are you trying to buy a Japanese PS2? If you want to play import games you're better off with Swap Magic or Free McBoot. It would be a hell of a lot cheaper.

You saw that site in my old topic didn't ya :P

Still over a 100$ tho and that is the range. Might be easier to find a youtube a video a old phat PS2 and get a mod ship or a boot disc

Mostly because I had bad experiences with those methods of importing before and I don't like how temper mental the machine can be in those cases. It will also greatly increase my credibility among the kids on forums like this.

I'll probably just end up caving and finally going next/current gen with the hopes I can get most of the games I want on the PSN store or in HD remake form.

Edit: Thanks for the response Ryudo. yes yes I did.

Nothing to be ashamed of having a modded system. You don't lose any cred when there is no cred in the first place. I have Japanese imports and PAL imports but no Japanese systems. Not a big deal.

If you don't mod your console how else are you going to play Front Mission 5 in English? ;-)

I guess. I just don't like to emulate Saturn, Dreamcast, PS2, or anything newer than that... just doesn't work too well. Nothing beats the original hardware. Plus Free McBoot is easy as all hell and I've never had any trouble with it. You don't even have to mod your console to use it.

Its too bad the ps3 is a pain in the ass, some of the cutscenes in FM5 looks really crazy when they're rendered out at HD quality.

I'm still sad FM 5 and 2 never came out in english.

I miss the days when modding your console meant taking some pliers and ripping out two tabs so the cartridge would fit.

EDIT:
Yeah, me too. Thank god the fan translations exist because Front Mission 2 and Front Mission 5 are the best ones :P

I'm still hoping for a super mega-collection that gets translated and released overseas... including front mission online... and border of madness (with extra stuff so it actually includes everything)

A man can dream.

Anyone else download Wake up on PSvita today? It's a weird but quirky happy go fun Japanese approach at an alarm clock and yeah you can earn trophies for some reason. Does add a mini game so when the alarm goes you have to pick the vita up and play a micro game of catch your avatar to turn the alarm off. I will use it as I often need to wake up in the morning and for various reasons do not own a plug in alarm clock.
