I was so excited to finish my new addiction that is Archibald's Adventure for the PSP......and then I was tricked with a false ending that opens up 8 more worlds with sicker levels that the developers apparently "added on" at the end. Now I have more of these frustrating levels to go through. I don't know how I feel about that.

Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner

I'm not very impressed with it so far. Ended up stopping it at one point to play some Tekken 5. I'll give it another try but if I give up on it again, i'll just send it back.

I hear it's poorly optimized and doesn't run as well as the original. Apparently it's still fairly playable, but far from the silky smooth framerate the weaker PS2 was pulling off.

It's more of a problem with the gameplay itself than the framerate or graphics. I just didn't find it fun.

Maybe you don't like the concept but this is one of those games where it has to be on point to be good. If a racing game is running at 15fps then the feeling of speed you're supposed to have will be compromised.

ZOE 2 is all about reflex, visual reward and speed so dropping inputs and slowing it down hurts it at its core. Still even if you played the ps2 version you might not like it but even for people who did like it they'd find the experience very different.

Don't think it's the concept I have issues with. I used to like ZOE1. But now that I think about it, it was cause it was a Kojima produced game. Same thing why I was interested in Boktai. So anything he made I was willing to play.

I totally went through that phase too man. I'm kinda in that with Suda, I like him so much I can't bring myself to hate any of his games.

Having just beaten Spec Ops: The Line, I just have to say one thing about it: it absolutely makes Far Cry 3's attempt at delivering an underlying "message" look completely feeble and amateur.
They both pretty much present the same basic theme and commentary about videogames and the player's investment in them. But while Far Cry 3 was a little too heavy-handed about it all, Spec Ops veils it in a much more cryptic, mind-fuck kind of way, and it just works so much better. You don't even have to look at it as commentary on gaming for it to work. There are a lot of levels to the story.
I thought it could have been improved a little bit by easing into the mind-fuckery a little more steadily, but it still plays out brilliantly.

Its too bad so much got forced on them, originally the game wasn't going to have multiplayer.

Yeah, reloaded the epilogue and tried all three. Just youtube-ed the other one (where you do nothing).
Hard to determine which, if any, is sort of the "true" ending. I like that.
Like I said, I think the only way I think they could have improved the story is if the sort of "freak out" moments would have ramped up a little more steadily from the beginning of the game on. I mean, technically they do enough for the story to get across the way it should, but I think slipping in subtle-but-noticeable things near the beginning, and slowly making them bigger would have been better than sticking the grand majority of it just into the second half.
But it's a totally minor gripe.
It's still great to start out thinking the characters are probably just regular old videogame military types, and ending the game with a totally different perspective on them.

Replaying KOTOR. First time playing it back in the day was one of my favourite gaming experiences, so it was a bit concerning to go back in case it aged beyond playability. It hasn't aged that well, and what I liked about it wasn't as good as I remember, but it's still a lot of fun. Certainly not near aged beyond playability. Looking forward to playing KOTOR II with all the restoration mods when done too since I never got to play the fixed version of it first time around.

That twist in KOTOR was awesome. Biowares best game for me.
