PS2 has sold over 150m?

And yeah, for what was meant to be a "sales flop", 55.9m is actually a rather large number of PSPs shipped!

PS2 I think is close to 160.
DS is around 154 I think
PSP sold 70

Never get why people call PSP a failure. Every Handheld ever to challenge Nintendo. PSP outsold them all combined.

Ouch at those US WiiU numbers for last month. Nintendo need a big hitter and the next XBox & PS might need something very special or all consoles are going to have a hard time.

I bought many games based on a demo. I have noticed many demo's are lazy even for a great game. Just make the game truly represent your game. Many forget how to do that.

I think it depends on the game. Game companies behave a lot like Hollywood sometimes. When a movie studio knows their movie is crap they don't screen it for critics out of hopes of not killing off what momentum they can build through advertising for the opening weekend that means everything. (0 reviews on rotten tomatoes a day before a movie opens is never a good sign) On the gaming front, if you know your game is kick ass than it stands to reason you want to get your game out to critics and you want to get a demo out to consumers to help energize the buzz and word of mouth for launch day. Inversely, if your game sucks ass than yeah. Releasing a demo probably isn't a good idea.

It became the most generic of generic action FPSs. Granted if it were what was original promised, a survival horror FPS, then people would still be saying its shit (as it stands its one of steams best sellers)

but yea the fact that a dude can just kill a Xeno with a handgun in like 2 bullets (and even on hard it doesn't take a full clip) is pretty bullshit. dumb stuff like exploding Xenos don't help either.

less then 60,000. They seriously need some games. I don't think current consoles is the reason (because they're slumping too) I don't think it has to do with competition between brands either. I was really hyped for stuff coming out but for the most part stuff is either being pushed, cancelled or turning out absolute shit. Anarchy Reigns and Fire Emblem (both released last year in Japan) are my highlights so far.

I don't think Superman Returns was completely abysmal like a lot of people claim. I've seen horrible. (Batman and Robin) and I've seen very horrible. (low budget fantastic 4) And I don't think Returns falls into those categories. Though while not god awful, it did seem pretty mediocre and average which was still a let down after seeing the trailer. Never the less, I cannot fault the people who make movie trailers. It's their job to you get you pumped for a new product, regardless for the quality contained there in.

Demos work both ways, really. They can either put you off or make you want to buy them. But yeah, I can see why it can harm sales. I've bought many a shit game because there was no demo to tell me it's shit. Then again, I predominantly buy second hand games, and they don't usually count towards sales, do they?
