Points for saying Chaos Theory's one of the best ever stealth games, but deductions for starting on Normal and dissin current gen DA.

It's been years since I last played Splinter Cell, I thought I'd be out of practice.

I'm assuming you mean the PS3 version of DA over the PS2 version. In that case, you are deducted points. The PS3 got one of the worst ports from Ubisofts second tier Shanghai studio. Back when Ubi Montreal were the bees knees, from the sounds of it, the PS2 version was almost a completely different game.

By the way, on the last mission of Chaos Theory. Just came off my worst rating of 65% on the bloody Japanese Bathhouse mission...

Still preferred the XBox version over the 360 version.

I've got the PS3 HD collection and need to get around to playing Chaos Theory. I've beat the first two games but take quite a break between each one.

When I finally get to Double Agent what one is really the 'official' squeal or do you need to play them both to get the full story/experience?

The current gen's the onet hat leads into Conviction, last gen one is part of an "off-shoot" story that includes Essentials. The core of both versions have the same story, but have different sections and are told differently too. But seriously, who the fuck plays Splinter Cell for the story?

I'd say go for PS2/Xbox. Ubisoft Montreal were at the peak of their game following on from Chaos Theory..

That game is the reason I quit Splinter Cell for so long! I'm avoiding Pandora Tomorrow for the same reason Ubisoft Shanghai are behind it..

lol, wtf? Pandora Tomorrow's actually good. Well, better than the first anyway. I honestly don't see why anyone could have a problem with DA360. I know the JBAHQ didn't go down well with a lot of peeps, but the proper levels are the best ever seen in a Splinter Cell game besides Chaos Theory. I'm actually gutted that they didn't use DA360 as the basis for all of this gen's SC games. The prison and Shanghai in particular were brilliant. I'll just never understand how a stealth gamer would have anything bad to say about it all. Truly baffles the mind.

I found it far too different. It's like the odd stepchild to Splinter Cell like the first iteration of Conviction. But if you enjoy it, go right ahead

I've been slowly going through RE6.

Sherry and Jake's scenario was the best. The whole game should've been just THEM with guest appearances by Chris and Leon. They easily had the most entertaining story, due in part to their interactions with each other. I feel like they had the best action sequences too but it might be because the characters were that great.

I'm plowing through Ada's scenario before moving on.

^So, so madly agree with you there. Chris's scenario was so bad. Leon's was mediocre. Jake and Sherry's was really good...it felt a bit like RE3 and Code Veronica in parts, heck, it actually felt like a Resident Evil game. And yeah, they were really good characters, the only ones worth talking about in the game. Not played Ada's scenario, is it any good?

From what little I played, it's alright. It's very claustrophobic since you're navigating through really tight hallways and airducts. I'm interested to see how it goes down.

But yeah, going back to Sherry and Jake, that single handedly saved the game for me. After Leon and Chris, I was ready to give up but decided to give it a shot. So glad I did. It also helps that I was playing a character that was last seen in RE2, it's pretty weird to see the character grown up and swearing (and over-sexualized, but hey it's a Japanese game, they love those blue-eyed blonde haired dames).

Now I'm thinking of buying it to add it to the RE collection. I even still have RE5 despite me disliking it cause I'm that big a fan of the RE series.
