Launch System woes. Every launch has a ton of issues no matter the system. Esp now days when they fill these things with so much software and more to go wrong. Why it's best to wait a few months to a year.Hate to say it but took MS 5 years and Sony 2.
Who Really Cares? wrote: A few devs have already said better tech will = better AI in their games
I originally had this in my post above actually but removed it since I felt it was a lot of text already.
Anyway, I mentioned AI in another topic. I remember during the PS3/360 hype that there was talk about these consoles allowing them to have more advanced AI. A couple of developers talked about not having hardware limits for the first time ever and that creativity was the limit now. Then fast forward a bit and many seem to have focused mostly on graphics again.
In an interview, Kojima talked about not just focusing on graphics for MGS4 due to the hardware. He wanted to dedicate processing power to trees growing, advanced AI for several factions during war etc. Later on : sorry, we couldn't have the trees and we simplified the factions and reduced their amount.
Gran Turismo. Shortly after release the creator talked about the next consoles having enough power for his vision. But wait, he also said this last time. So GT5 has 1080p, 3D support and so on but cars still drive around with quite dumb AI.
So it's like Ryudo said : they like talking about AI but I haven't noticed some of those leaps that got mentioned during prelease hype (budget also poses limits of course). That being said, I do understand people being put off due to some outdated components in the WiiU (again) out of principle.
why don't they just show stuff? i have 4 games, and I like all 4 of them alot, but these cheesy ass commercials that don't do any of the games justice.
I been watching Zombi U and i feel bad. It's a game I think I would love. I would suck at it but love. Problem is I gave up survival horror games because of my anxiety and heart just can't handle those things. But man ZombiU give that true feeling of survival and you want to survive. If you don;t backtracking trying not to die so you don;t lose your stuff perm from the last character. Some of those fuckers move fast. Maybe just me but even the non moving corpses I would bash it's head in. Take no chances. Shame I can never play it but looks like a good game than really build as a series. If not a zombi game a very similar concept but in the setting of let's say Raw Danger meets falllout 3 type of deal.
I was playing and had to stop because i was afraid, and because i was afraid I fucked up. I got killed in a doorway, and when i came back with my next character my old character was surrounded by zombies that were still eating him and all the flares in the area were in the bag.
Its sometimes a really bad idea to take everything and stockpile, but it really sucks when you know a block over theres a whole clip of ammo and you didn't pick it up incase you died and theres just 1 zombie left and you can't switch to the cricket bat fast enough.
Its alittle jarring at first, but then again people don't realize that there are some melee weapons you can swing by swinging the gamepad. My roommate figured that out when he was flailing around when they caught him in a corner.
History has shown weakest console almost always wins. Those ones has very weak chips then compared to the competition and they all turned out fine. So nothing to worry about at least for now. In fact I recall how there was a lot of concern over the SNES CPU. It was painfully slow but ended up winning the 16 bit wars. Even by 1993 Sega had 500 games and SNES around 300 but eventually SNES had more support and sales and games..
This thing may be Dreamcast compared to Xbox. Still nothing to freak out about yet. I can't say for full retail AAA support but they seem to have the indie market really figured out. So if anything esp with the unity deal it's a console to download most games for big hits.
