Did I say Wii? I meant DS.

DS would be worst with crappy graphics and cartridge not having enough space for voices and cutscenes.

 @ Shallow graphics whores. How do they even play Shenmue with 12 year old graphics or handhelds. These people need to stop gaming. It's hurting real gamers out there.

You know Persona games rely on a lot of dialogue and voices, cutscenes. I just think it wouldn't work on a handheld. When they ported persona 3 to PSP they remove a lot of stuff.

Quick question about Catherine's multiplayer mode. Can you play it online against another person or is it local multiplayer only?

I was mocking every post you have the word "graphics" as if it's a deciding factor to a game or system is worth playing.

Also how the fuck did your grammar go from broken English to a well structured sentence?
Someone been playing us a fool for 8 years. Well played sir.

Local only.

I don't really care much about graphics in games. I still play older games.

Probably because Catherine's not a game of 'IT'S MOVING, SHOOT IT!'. Either that or they're just disappointed that it's not a hentai game.

Catherine is hard even on easy. But there is a trick to get very easy difficulty. After you press start in the title screen hold select for a few seconds and the screen should flash and then start a new game on easy. You should be playing on very easy.

Shenmue still blows away a lot of current gen games with it's charming visuals.
Just saying.
Carry on.

Shenmue still looks nice, but yeah, I wouldn't really say it "blows away" much nowadays.

Anyway, got Catherine in the mail yesterday (always have to wait a bit for Amazon pre-orders).
The game is excellent so far. Just truly excellent. The puzzle gameplay itself is simple, challenging, and fun (nothing "OMG too hard!!!!" so far, like people were bitching about; difficult, but manageable). And the presentational style of it is absolutely top-notch. The story seems to be going in extremely interesting directions, the music is, of course, catchy, cool, and well orchestrated (as one should expect out of Shoji Meguro), and the graphics and design work are really, really attractive. If you like the general presentation aspects of Persona 3 and 4, you'll love this.

The best comparison I can make about the game is that it's a lot like Killer 7.
Seriously.
Not in the way it plays or anything like that, just in the way the game values story and style over all else, with the gameplay almost seeming like an add-on, just there to actually turn it into a game. That was certainly the case with Killer 7, and it really does feel like the case with Catherine.
And in no way is it a bad thing. That was precisely what I loved about K7, so I'm finally getting to have that kind of experience again. This is exactly the kind of thing I wish Suda would be working on.

I don't. Oh well, won't bother.
