You have to do what you want to do, and you have to do what you think is the right thing to do and what you think is the best thing to do. People who like what you do and are fans of your work are just going to like what you do as long as you do something true to yourself. You can get into a lot of trouble when you start to worry too much about what people are going to think because then you start to get into this weird self-censorship cycle. You do something that might be interesting and different and unique, but you become too worried what people are going to think, and you censor it.

Creative things, no matter what they are-books, video games, whatever-if they're really good, they have lots of pointy little edges, and that's what makes them interesting. It's all these pointy little spikes and all these little things you can cut yourself and prick yourself on, that's what makes creative work interesting. If you get into self-censorship mode, you start to pound all those pointy edges away because you're very afraid of offending somebody or worried what somebody will think of it. And then what you're left with is kind of blah, just not interesting. I think you just need to do what you think is the right thing to do, and hopefully people like it.

Completely agree.

^Somewhat?

Yeah, try to convince yourself of that.

I know who we will be missing in half a dozen months or so. :p

Only have the first game. It was a nice Bargin Bin game and fun but was far from great IMO. Extremely overrated.

I second that. Doing what you love and staying true to it no matter what the most important thing in the world for any creative type.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has told Gamasutra that a lack of new console hardware in recent years has been damaging for the entire games industry.

“What we missed was a new console every five years,” he says. “We have been penalized by the lack of new consoles on the market. I understand the manufacturers don’t want them too often because it’s expensive, but it’s important for the entire industry to have new consoles because it helps creativity.”

He went on to say “It’s a lot less risky for us to create new IPs and new products when we’re in the beginning of a new generation.” “Our customers are very open to new things. Our customers are reopening their minds, and they are really going after what’s best.”

“At the end of a console generation, they want new stuff, but they don’t buy new stuff as much. They know their friends will play Call of Duty or Assassin’s Creed so they go for that. So the end of a cycle is very difficult.”

“If you can’t take risks because people don’t buy, you don’t innovate,” he says. “And if you don’t innovate, customers get bored.”

He primarily chases after any trouble relating to the Omi Alliance or the underworld. In order to prevent total war between east and west, he rushes around across the country.

6 years ago, when the great feud between East and West, started by Goda Ryuji, broke out, the Osaka police were a step behind. Repentant for trailing behind to the Metropolitan Police Department, they are determined to resolve the forthcoming feud between east and west solely with their own force.

He has, in absolute secrecy, been keeping track of the alliance negotiations between the Tojo Clan and Yamakasa family in Fu.kuoka and, after the disappearance of Dojima Daigo, tries to get in touch with those involved. Since then, he has been providing information of any developments to the parties concerned. Fearing that police intervention will kick off the war, they opt to work behind the scenes in order to bring about a resolution to affairs in an indirect manner.

He has condescending eyes. No one can tell what he is thinking about because of the way he talks and acts. He is always close to the centre of trouble. What on earth is the intention of this man who is trying to control things...?

We have console games that look like this. His argument is invalid.

I always hated the 5 year cycle. I'm glad for longer cycles. Consoles get cheaper, they make money and games became cheaper to make.

Facial tech is great but it will have a lot of low res texture elsewhere as most games do. Then you get Halo 4 where the devs are proud to announce its the first Halo game in 720p. 7 years into the consoles life an a devs happy to get a 720p game when they said all games would be true HD at the start? :???:

While im still enjoying games on the current consoles im ready for new tech from MS and Sony and not in terms of graphics. I want smart AI, Bigger worlds and so on.
Also after 7 years dvd is starting to hold devs back.
