It's basically classic Banjo-Kazooie, except the transformations of old are replaced by building your own 'transformations'. The platforming element is much reduced, but that's OK. In my opinion, most of those who decry Nuts & Bolts for not being a platformer probably haven't played Banjo-Tooie. That game took the old BK platforming formula to it's ultimate extent.

Aside from the graphics, there's really nothing they could have improved. 'Tooie is massive, and the later levels are ridiculously-complex. The levels are all interconnected, and some jiggies require a lot of work. I remember one in Jolly Roger's Lagoon which requires work in three different worlds to get. Nuts & Bolts is awesome, I don't care what anyone says. Not just a great game, but a great BK game. Such immense fan-service in N&B.

Had it since launch but not actually finished it but found myself going back to it over the last few days. Love that Rare take the piss out of themselves every chance they get in that game be it comments like not having been in as many games as that plumber to loads of copies of Grabbed By The Ghoulies in the bin.
And I would have to say its one of the nicest looking games this gen and still holds up well today IMO.
I love that Rare tried something different with the series rather than just copy and past the old games into Next Gen[and hell you can buy the originals on XBLA]

And you can waste hours trying to make the perfect vehicle and some of the designs ive seen on youtube/The official site have just been amazing.

I also recommend the DLC L.O.G.'s Lost Challenges which is 400MSP.

I mean dear god, a transformer!

Started playing Dead Island but it got ruined by 2 randoms just joining my game and they must have been pressing buttons because i missed all what was being said by other characters

So i kicked them out and found the game has it set from the start that anyone can join a game at any time but ive changed that now to friends only.

I would have been ok if they atleast had mics on but nope just running around messing shit up.

Its the worst in saints row, since people join and start using cheats which cuts off achievements.

If you'd gotten the pc version I'd have been happy to tag along, alas there are no pc gamers.

That stuff aside what do you think of it so far?

I've been thinking of getting it myself. The Game of the Year (lawl) edition is only about 20 bucks at Best Buy.

I like what I've played so far despite most the missions so far seeming to have me simply going back and forth but im only a couple hours in.

Its always fun running over zombies.

Oh yeah, the WW2 Flight game Birds of Steel is the same way, some of the modes have it set up for anyone to join you automatically and you have to tell it otherwise if you don't want it that way.

@ Martin & WRC While I detested N & B or pretty much anything Rare has done post N64 you still might enjoy this.

Played the Demo for Mass Effect 3. I liked it. Fuck me that's two shooters in a row I liked.

Binary Domain was the other.

Tested an hour of Guild Wars 2 but I'm mainly playing The Witcher 2 when I have some time.

Played the Resident Evil 6 demo... and I'm kind of disappointed.
Keep in mind that this could all just be a sort of shock over how different the whole thing feels from RE4 or 5, but it just doesn't feel anywhere near as fun.
The controls feel really awkward and flighty, the laser sight wobbles all over the place (making long-distance shots almost impossible now), the camera is way too close to the character you're playing as (tons of camera problems because of this, especially in tight places), the cover system still feels really bad (especially when the game forces you into doing it), and the lighting makes it hard to even see anything under most conditions.
Seriously, half the time I couldn't even see the enemies I was attacking.
Say what you will about RE4 and 5, but I think it's pretty hard to argue against the fact that the controls felt incredibly solid and precise. In my short experience with RE6 so far, they feel really loose and unwieldy. Things felt extremely chaotic the whole time (in a bad way). And when I tried to settle down a bit and be more precise about the things I was doing, I'd just end up getting knocked around by enemies. Made it feel frustrating. Not just hard (RE5 Mercenaries mode could get really hard, but it was still fun), but frustrating.

I was slightly strapped for time, and again, it might just be that I wasn't in the correct "groove" at the time I was playing it. But thus far, I don't honestly know that RE6 will prove to be as enjoyable to me as the previous two games were.
I'll try it again later and give it another chance.
