"D" for the Sega Saturn, by Acclaim. I remember playing it a few years ago. I just won it on Ebay for £12.50, which is pretty good value considering it is now quite rare.

Does anybody remember it or has anyone played it? If so, what did you think to it? I would like to hear all your opinions on this game.

Wasn't there supposed to be a sequel for the DC? I saw early screen shots of it but did it ever actually get a release?

Yes there was a D2 and I saw in stores all the time.
People seem to have mixed opinions on it...some think it's crapola and other liked it and some thought it was ok at best.

Isn't that how it is with most games? ;)

But I get your point. What I thought was that most actually seemed to love it. Or on the other hand totally hate it. I haven't seen many 'mediocre' reactions or reviews.

I remember this game being hyped up through Sega Saturn Magazine but although it looked good, they seemed disappointed by it and its sequel. I tended to trust their opinion unless I had good reason not to. i.e if I enjoyed the original of a game and wanted the sequel not matter what.

They still have TONS of new copies of the DC version for cheap in Toys R Us. I might pick one up.

I heard D2 has a really good story but really crappy gameplay. I'll pick it up someday, though.

I happen to agree with you there.
After all the goddamn hype this game got, from the doctored (and eventually real) M2 system screens to its final iteration on the DC, the game was a major disappointment. Prehistoric gameplay coupled with a predictable storyline do not make a good game.

On a side note, Kenji Ono has rightfully exited from the game industry, last I heard.

i don't like D.THAT'S BECAUSE I HATE ITS GAMEPLAY.
however it's remembered as the only dc game which can't be ripped...
u can rip only its demo

I heard the game (well at least D2 dor Dreamcast) was very gory and sexual. Sometimes at the same time. I also heard it has well tentacles....if ya know what I mean. ;)
