SEC To Investigate Members of the Gaming Industry

Postby T1249NTSCJØ » Thu Jul 24, 2003 12:23 pm

The Securites and Exchanges Commission, or SEC, is set to investigate Acclaim, Activision, and THQ for their accounting practices.

The investigation is because of a US $900 million increase in sales over the past two years.

It is possible that the investigation could at some point be extended to the entire videogame industry.

Yea, Activision makes THPS. That game sucks there is no way it made 900 million! Acclaim I never really liked and everybody knows THQ is really bad until they come out with Full Spectrum Soldier or whatever. 900 million..Maybe they should have played some of thier games..

I think THQ had a hand in publishing Sonic Advance 1 and 2 for Game Boy Advance

is a GBA that thing that plays Super NES games that were remade after like 10 years. Oh and old genesis games? Its like $90 too, right? Yeah, I heard of those, never knew they were popular....or worth mentioning and wasting time in a post on the dojo. ;)

I like my GBA.

I'll be damned if I'm paying thrity quid for a game though.

Acclaim, Activision, and THQ all make "Cash - in" games. You know, film and sports licenses mostly.

Those are the kind of games that sell well, not because they are good, but because people like the sport/movie.

But I seriously doubt they could make that much off them.
