Maybe just me but the title screen just screams 16 bit era to me and I love it.

...eeeeehhhhh, I think it's just you. The title screen seems about as new-agey as can be to me (the slow-->fast movement reminds me more of the Arkham City title screen than anything 16-bit). I like it either way though.
And the game is looking pretty damn cool.

I look at the angle and the red eye going in 4 directions. Old Title screens did that all the time. They wanted to show off. Even NES games like Wizards and Warriors with the sparkling.

Gotta say, this is my most anticipated game of next year right now. I cannot wait to see how the boss battles are, something the Metal Gear series and Platinum Games are both well known for. The new enemy unit in this game look suitably crazy though and (finally) aren't just shouting "RAGE!!!" at the top of their lungs anymore.

The title screen looks more akin to an Acrade game.

But its looking cool. Hopefully the slow-mo sword slashing doesn't slow the pace too much in the action. Or gets too complicated to use.

I think the slo-mo will be fine. Seems like the melee action game equivalent to Max Payne's bullet time; just a precision move for extra flash.

I'm probably the only one that wants this, but I kind of hope there's some sort of extra mode where you can play the fight against Vamp from MGS4. It'd be cool to play that other side of the action while Snake is rail gun-blasting Metal Gears below.
I know it won't happen, I'm just fantasizing.

I like MGS but not love. However this is a MG game I can get into. It's right up my alley. Hack n slash goodness. Def getting this

I probably had mixed feelings about it but now I wish this would've been set between MGS2 and 4. The story of how Sunny was retrieved and the battles that ensued would've been a great tie in.

This is looking amazing, but then with that pedigree how could it be anything else but. Like Henry I'm also looking forward to some hopefully spectacular boss fights. The last two Metal Gear games (MGS 4 and Peace Walker) sort of disappointed in that regard, so hopefully Platinum should be able to bring back the glory.

Yep, it's out now. I've not played it since 2008. I'm tempted but I won't spend massive amounts to buy a copy..

My brother still has his copy, but before I borrow that I still have to get through the original games...

You can also install the full game from the main menu rather than before each chapter starts
