Yesterday I found a game I had searched for a long time, and which I thought I'd never get, not even paying top dollar, as I absolutely just couldn't find it anywhere. Then, as I was scrounging around online, there it was, a sealed copy, which I managed to haggle down to half-price (15euro + shipping). I still can't quite believe it, and I probably won't until it arrives. Hope I haven't jinxed it now.

It is essentially an experience focused on the story of a man and a woman, living in different countries, brought together by an uncanny nature they seem to share, based on a trilogy of novels by Nick Bantock. The characters use postcards and letters to communicate, which constitutes the basis of gameplay, as each is a puzzle.
It also won Best Sound and Best Moving Image at the BAFTA Interactive Entertainment Awards in 98.

Actually the project itself is something else, but the "Thunder" is related to it in a big way.

Really good guess (great series, too) but no, it's something else.
Though I am getting the urge to play the one you're suggesting, now that you bring it up. Kind of a shame the last game was edited for violence in the Taito Collection 2.
